Football schedule '05

On the I-AA forum, UMassFan says they're playing Albany next year, replacing Del State who backed out. I talked to Mike Simpson last week, who said we still had two open dates, beside opening at Hampton and closing at Fordham.

I also thought Albany was hosting Hofstra in year 2 of a 3-for-2 contract. The NEC has a 7-game league schedule. 2005 isn't a year for 12-game schedules, is it? Otherwise something doesn't add up...unless some of the contracts haven't been signed yet.

I am pretty sure Cornell is on the schedule as well. Hampton is a power and we are 0-1 already. I don't know if I can live through another 2004 type season. Scholarships where are you?

Cornell is not until 2006 (Sept 30, see Ivy future schedules).

 

No other Ivy games in the near future that I noticed.

 

Delaware is also in 2006.

in 06 ?

Someone has to grab McElroy and tell him we can't play this schedule w/o 63 full rides. We lost to a mid tier A-10 school 45-0. Delaware may win its second national championship this year (BTW they may be better then Montana of 2002). If they want to play up make it Holy Cross or Georgetown...give ourserlves a chance.

In case it wasn't clear, Delaware State backed out of their contract with UMass, not any they may or not have had with us.

 

Agree we should get a Pioneer League game IF THEY'LL PLAY HERE, or a lower-rung Patriot.

That is just plain suicide. It is a tougher schedule the last years.
