That is great news. Here comes the tandom qb platoon system this year. Uli could be out of a job!

Rumor is that Uli is no longer on the team. Coach Ford gave him the option to switch positions and he apparently didn't want to do that. Should be a good battle with the transfer from Temple. Apparently he's pretty good. We'll have to wait and see.

Trying to figure out who the Temple transfer is. I checked the Temple website and they only have 3 qb's listed. two seniors and one junior from Florida. Wouldn't think the junior would transfer to play his senior year at Albany. Also checked other position players from NY and none of them were underclassmen - most were linemen.

Boltus, Bocanegra, and the mystery kid from Temple. We should be dramatically improved at the qb position. It is a shame one of these guys didn't step up last season and let Bazan be a rb.

 

Lets hope we improve in the pass catching department this season. We also need this UCONN kid to be a good TE for us. This way we will not be one dimensional. I believe our D will be outstanding. Disch should excell and I don't think anyone else on D was that indespensible.

The kid from Temple only has one year of eligibility left. He is a journeyman. This is his third school I believe.

Whats his name and where else did he play? As long as he is an outstanding player we can use him.

His name is Brett Hall from Lake Forest, Illinois. On the Tenn.-Martin roster, he was listed at 6'4" 218 lbs. I believe he was on the Lackawanna Junior College football team last year.

His QB rating at Lackawana was 83%. How in the world did he end up at Albany? At the end of the day who cares he looks like a starter to me!

He appears to have graduated HS in 2002, that would give him 2 years of eligibility.

 

Not sure how he could get to so many colleges in such a short time.

Started at Temple transferred to SW Texas State in April 2003 and then to Tennessee Martin in July 2003. Can't find when he transferred to Lackawanna, but he did play in games at Tennessee Martin, so I assume he transferred after the 2003 - 2004 school year.

Bad news I just heard last week about this kid. He had a pre-existing shoulder injury which forced him to have his should surgically repaired and stablized a couple of years ago. During the final winter conditioning session last week, the team played a little basketball "tournament" and the kid apparently fell and reinjured his shoulder. I heard from another quarterback on the team that he needs to have another surgery to restabilize his shoulder and will most likely be out about 6 months because it is his throwing shoulder.

 

This is information coming from another quarterback on the team so you judge for yourself on the validity of the information. I am just passing it on.

 

If true it stinks for us. Apparently this kid was the real deal and definitly would have started. Hopefully he rehab quick and get back out there.
