I know UA has played what now looks like a pretty light schedule, but when is the last time an America East team went 10-1 in the non conference schedule?

Could this team be a 30 win team this season and not make the NCAA tournament? It is possible at this point, even if they lose 2 out of their next 3 games. It's unlikely with 2 regular season games against Vermont, and I think they would have to beat them twice in the regular season if they lose to Memphis and Louisville.

Very unlikely, but interesting to think of the possibility and if the America East would even sniff an at large bid.

Newest MM top 25 coaches Poll out today. UA remained in the top 5, falling from #4 to #5 after the loss at Memphis.

UVM falls out of the top 25, landing at #26.

They have played a much harder schedule. Does anyone actually think UA is that much better, or is it just victim/beneficiary of scheduling?

Kind of how all polls go though. Villanova is number 1 in the country since they're undefeated...with their best win being vs Gonzaga at MSG...a game the Zags had to fly cross country for. They're a very good team, but we're talking number 1 in the country here and they've played a soft schedule.

Win and you get some love, regardless of who you've played. That being said Vermont will have only played two D1 home games in OOC with a ton of tough road games. Overrated coming into the season, underrated now.

I agree, my comment was tongue in cheek. The coaches vote on that Poll, and I don't see how they get their ratings. Mid-major madness finally put UA in their top 25 last week, and they fell out this week. I can't remember where they fell, but UVM was around 15 or 16. Their rankings are probably closer to accurate. No way UVM is still top 10, yes they have been on the road, but a bunch of their losses have been to other mid majors.

No doubt Vermont has played a tough schedule on the road. The thing that has eluded both Albany and Vermont has been a marquee win. Vermont's best win was a neutral court victory over Bradley though they were painfully close to a great win at St. Bonaventure the other night.
