To me our weakest spot has been the face offs but that seems to be solved

You've got a point.

I forgot about the misery.  Irelan gave me temporary amnesia.

One thing we know.  Offense hasn't been a problem.

We don't want the dejected little whiner back at the university anyhow.

Add crew, add anything, but don't bring back Graham.

The school year was over.  The students weren't thrown out on the street.

Graham was canned and his beloved tennis program was tossed in the trash.  He's throwing a hissy fit,

and throwing the athletic department and university under the bus.

Agree, their D-line was dominating. Gave Brunson little time, hurried the entire game. Why in the world did we not call short passing plays and not long throws to the sidelines. Totally predictable once again giving their D all the ammunition against us. Brunson did have quite a few overthrows which I'm hoping it's not because of poor performance but possibly a result of the injury. Wonder just how of an impact not having the two receivers on the field today had. One thing for sure the offensive play-calling sucks $iena.

Don't know if this was already covered or not, but how out of whack are we in terms of title IX?
Now, I'm a novice in this argument.... and not sure who is already included in the title ix allocation , but.....
If non-scholarship athletes and walk-ons are included, cheerleaders need to be included as well, if they aren't already.
Being heavily involved in both basketball and football, and other events, they are being given special athletic privilege as well.

I'm commenting way too much but ... There was a court case about this that came out of Quinnipiac Univeristy. Cheerleading may NOT be used towards Title IX. - http://www.espn.com/...-sport-title-ix
They need to revisit those cases. Other cases need to be initiated. For not to count cheerleading teams and cheerleading squads as part of equal athletic opportunity, is beyond absurd. There are seven men's teams and nine women's teams. There are almost as many members on a cheerleading squad as there are on a football team. Cheerleading is an extension on all of our sports teams including men's and women's basketball, football, Etc. Women on the cheerleading squad are given opportunity in the form of competition, athletic participation, etc.

The whole thing smells like bull$iena. At some point, enough is enough.

My only complaint yesterday was the same one I had last season. The way they handle concessions is extremely inefficient. They should separate the cashiers from the people ordering food like they do in SEFCU and at venues like the TUC. Lines would move faster, people wouldnt hate waiting in line, and more food/beverages would be sold.

Better yet, join the 21st century and have people walking the stands with popcorn, chips, etc. and equip them with card readers/cash. Concession stands on the concourse should be for hot food only.

Good suggestion...I'd buy this way. I buy as it is as my brood needs 3 food trips a game. Will have to start bringing in a backpack with cash. Or at least a fanny-pack\

No fanny packs.  Please.

BTW, went into a store with my son's Florida Gators cap on. A cashier asked me if I thought Florida was going to win today. I said yes but my team is really Albany. He said oh I've heard of Albany the men's basketball team. He was a Tennessee volunteer.

#100542 UAlbany takes home its 5th straight America East Commissioner's Cup

Posted by uofalbany on 05 June 2017 - 10:37 AM

I'm all about growth and expansion.  Probably pretty clear to everyone.

The questions I think worth answering:

Where do we want to be in 10-20 years?

What is the game plan to get us there?

If we have aspirations to become nationally relevant, in all sports, I think complacency destroys all hopes.

I think we all agree, UAlbany needs to be in another conference (at some point), if we want it to happen.

I think we've hit the ceiling in basketball.... both mens and womens.  Which, arguably is the most relevant sport

in college athletics.   It's all about basketball and football, and of course, lacrosse :)

Do we DRESS FOR SUCCESS, or do we wait for someone or something to make it happen for us?

If we take every step possible to be attractive (one day) to a American Athletic Conference (for instance),

what are those steps?

Facilities upgrades?

Half step conference upgrades?

In terms of the CAA vs AE schools:

AE: Binghamton, Hartford, Lowell, Maine, Stony Brook, UNH, UMBC, Vermont

CAA: Charleston, Delaware, Drexel, Elon, Hofstra, James Madison, Northeastern, Towson, Wilmington, William & Mary

MAC:  Is this a conference where schools upgrade to, and eventually die off into mediocrity?  Probably.

Is the CAA an upgrade?

Name recognition &  affiliation plays a big role in how people judge our athletics program.

Of course, everything is easier said than done.
