#106923 Butts in the Seats 2018 edition

Posted by UAalum72 on Today, 04:17 PM

Same discussion going on on the AE board.

Even “6K” at $iena (paid, their fans say they’re getting 2 or 3 thousand noshows) is only one out of every 180 people in the CD. Either means a lot of untapped potential, or confirms that sports isn’t that big a deal. Big crowds at Saratoga, 4K at the Joe, what else draws a big sports crowd?

Wouldn’t. be surprised if the campus location, separate to itself on the city outskirts, keeps any non-alumni from identifying with the school as an integral part of Albany.

Anyone find a Drexel message board? Want to see if their fans think they will beat us or if they chalking up a loss.

Havent seen a message board, but on the LaxPower forum CAA thread theyre using terms like shellacking and death march.

Theres no discussion on the Drexel lax Facebook page either

Just noticed MD game starts at halftime of the AE MBB championship game. I can only hope that will be a problem

I probably shouldn't post this because it'll probably jinx him, but after 24 games, I believe that Stire is 23-1 on the opening tip...

Nice move. I think he’s about 1-4 since this post

LaxPower forum says the last SU game with < five goals was a 10-3 loss to North Carolina in 1991. Biggest loss at home since 19-6 to Cornell in 1987. Worst loss was 21-7 to Duke in 2014

1 for 5? Boy, this team better work on their man-up offense.

Nice move by ESPN not having a boring game like this on a national network

He only played one game so a medical redshirt shouldnt be a problem.

Gattuso May have said something about mentally trusting the knee, but thats not unusual with those injuries

That Iona win doesn't look so great anymore after tonight... Talk about an RPI killer

It would be true if it didn't float Siena's RPI...it's a net wash...
It takes away any chance Iona will finish in the top 100. It moves LCC out of last. Neither of those are good
Aints also now have more MAAC wins than we do

#106430 Contract Extension

As for doing some research...here's some research for you. Not looking to far out but looking at other CAA affiliate members and peer institutions in the AE. Maine and UNH joined the CAA in 2007. Throwing away each teams inaugural season (Fords first year)...year 2-5 records.
Maine 5-3
UNH 6-2
Maine 4-4
UNH 6-2
Maine 3-5
UNH 5-3
Maine 6-2
UNH 6-2
4 year in conference winning %
Maine 56%
UNH 72%
By contrast, a coach that has 4 full years under his belt has a winning % of 34% and a record of 11-21 and we are being told but it's so hard...other programs struggle making this move. <- this isn't even true...
Again, I'm not asking for him to be fired, I just don't understand why there was a rush to extend a coach and commit another 900k or more to him when he had multiple years left on his contract.

Not comparable. Maine and UNH had been in the A-10, the same league, the CAA just took over management. Stony Brook had a head start by going to the. Big South a full scholarship league before moving to the CAA. But some startups like Kennesaw seem to have moved right past us

Nice intensity in the second half. I was afraid they would be down enough after the loss to UVM to lose this one too. Has a corner now been turned?

This team is ALWAYS  turning a corner

7 deep and nothing from bench... Very surprising that we red shirted the whole freshman class and proceeded to have zero depth.

Our bench had two points, four rebounds, and one assist. UVMs bench, on the other hand, had ... two points, three rebounds, and one assist.

Someone (even the past) wanted Brown fired!? Boo that man!

Short memory. Even last March our resident manic-depressive Scrabbleship said the loss to UVM meant the clock has reached midnight for Will Brown. (He hasn’t posted since)

Remember it took him ten years or more to get his record up to .500. Lot of doubters even since then, eve after he got the rep for winning the tournament
