very worth while...but how did North Dakota St. get a #14 seed? We got punished when we made the Tournament for the first time, and we play in a much tougher conference then the Summit. It makes me think Binghamton fans are going to have something to cry about (which I don't give a $iena about), but the AE will also (which I do care about)

I think Bingo's 15 isn't a shock. There may be a team or two that are 14s that Bingo is better than, but the committee will tinker with the 13-15 lines to get geography reasonable and to make sure there are no regular season rematches in the first two rounds - so Bingo may have been one of those teams that got bumped.

Also, when you're a repeat champ - such as Cornell - you usually get a seed or 2 higher than you deserved, they do seem to reward repeat champs.

Who cares why NDSU got a 14 and Bing got a 15. If we didn't get that 16 seed against uconn we probably wouldnt have been in the national primetime game on a friday at 8:00.

I've spent my entire 30+ years on this planet in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Albany, New York. And now I have to watch #9 Siena vs. #8 Ohio State (not to mention Binghamton is the America East school in the Tournament)? Are you kidding me? I want them both to lose so bad to each other, I don't know even what to think! Is this the beginning of the opening of the Seven Seals or what?

Tell me about it. With me being a U-M grad and Mrs. S$ being a UAlbany grad, we are rooting for some sort of double disqualification. But look at it this way--one of these teams must lose. I think OSU is going to win this game in Dayton.

From Club Trillion Blog (Ohio State Player Mark Titus' Blog):

"Anyway, the nasty taste left in our mouths from losing the Big Ten Championship was erased when we found out that we would be playing Siena, which happens to be my favorite shade of Crayola brown, in the first round of the NCAA tournament."

Good Luck to Siena. They deserve to be where they are!!!!!

We will continue to live in their shadow until we beat them, again. That's the way life is.

Until we find a way to put 10,000+ into SEFCU I don't see us getting Siena into our house.

Don't be envious, it's good for the Capital Region.

A team from Albany has been to 4 consecutive NCAAs and has played well in 3 not a bad showing for the Capital Region.

Let's get both schools to the NCAAs in the same year!!!

Given the events of the last four years, I have my doubts that we can beat them since we always choke.

There is a little something called a home-and-home series that could fix that. That would be fair for all parties involved, Siena gets their big game while we get to host them to be fair. If Brown and URI can home-and-home with a similar setup of facilities (small campus arena vs. big municipal arena), so can we and the one thing keeping that from happening is Siena's arrogance.

That'll only happen when we get someone to replace the derailing train known as Will Brown. How about swapping coaches, it's proven that .500 Fran is now March Madness McCaffery and Siena seems to be a place where mediocre coaches go great so they'd help Brown, yes?

I wish we could get $800,000 more a year for mens basketball...

You said the same thing just before we beat Vermont at Patrick Gym, and now we have their number.

If Siena beats Louisville today, Albany will be the #2 in the Capital District forever. Heaven forbid if Siena pulls a 2006 George Mason run, then there'll be no way Siena ever visits us or we get to bolt the rivalry.

GO CARDINALS!!!

scrabble,

Come on man....we need to concentrate on what we can do to improve UA basketball instead of trying to keep up with Siena. Yes, after the debacle that was Lanier, we closed the gap on them but what they've been able to do over the last two years has put significant distance between the two programs. They have a tremendous team and great fan support, but remember, 24 month's ago they must have been thinking, what the heck is going on UA going back to back.....If you are constantly looking over at Siena you'll lose sight of the great strides we've made here. We've gotten to the point where a .500 season is unacceptable, an injury riddled season leaves all of as really disappointed, this season we were off to our best record in the D1 era only to fall apart right around the time injuries hit.

I don't know if you are serious or not about getting McCafferey, his next job will be a BCS job, he will move on either this or next summer if the right job opens up. He has no reason to move, he get's 7K people into the building, he keeps dominating the MAAC and now has two W's in the tourney. The rest of the MAAC will probably keep playing for seconds while he's there. But remember.....mid-majors are cyclical, they've had great success before as have other programs.....Davidson didn't even make it to the dance after the great run last year.

We will be in contention next year
