So what’s the strategy now for team building?
Promising frosh performs above expectations…transfers to a higher level.
Diamond in the rough needs seasoning, gets 5-10 min a game, wants more, transfers out.
You probably get to keep the 5-8 mpg kids that know they’ve hit their level and just want to keep their scholly.
The way things are at UA’s level is it worth it to spend time, money and effort to bag a promising freshman when you can get a senior or grad with a verifiable track record at the collegiate level?
From the fan standpoint I have a real hard time developing any loyalty to the players if they’ll skip out so easily. It was so nice to see players develop and do their 4-5 years…not much any more. Helene and Kayla are exceptions.
Believe me, I don’t begrudge a player transferring for a higher level opportunity, to be closer to home, to seek NIL possibilities, etc. It just sucks from a fan standpoint.
