Some of you guys have had blinders on. This team has been avoiding disaster for a month. They very easily could be 8-8 or worse.

They rarely show any urgency and believe push comes to shove their offense will bail them out. They will be a solid Mid Pac team until their guards decide to defend and value the ball.

Seems like lazy passes and not going to the ball/pass is a big weakness. Opponents seem to have had MANY steals off of it.

I'm not sure I'd label it disaster. I certainly agree the urgency factor has shown its ugly face quite a few times this season.

So Cremo and Nichols are juniors, time is a clickin...... will they ever get to the NCAA tournament?

Not playing like they did last night.

Couldnt agree more. Yesterday confirmed all my doubts about their 12-3 record.

I don’t think opposing coaches have to go too deep into the films to see UA’s weaknesses. Can’t defend the three. Gets off to slow start. Lazy defense and lazy passing. You cannot win games playing defense 25% of the time in this league.

Yep, valuing the ball would be a HUGE start. There were a few passes last night where the receiver just lazily waited for the ball to come to him instead of him going to the ball and all instances resulted in a steal or helter skelter recovery. This was a problem during the Mike Black years too...it was actually worse then if I recall. I don't remember it being as much as an issue with Singletary.

We will go as far as David and Joe take us. But that includes both ends of the floor. Sure they scored well last night and combined for 43 points but Joe let his man blow his doors off like 4-5 times. David had a couple of turnovers being lazy. Both had a few questionable shots from way beyond the arc or just after bringing the ball over the midcourt line without running ANY offense. Surprisingly, Brown only looked mad on a few of them so maybe they are *infact* set plays/decisions but most of the times they feel like ill advised 'heat checks'.

This isn't true, what if I told you that Albany's 3pt defense ranked 139th in the country even after yesterdays debacle...it was even better prior to that. Obviously if this trend continues those numbers won't hold up but UA has done well to defend the 3 this year, last night notwithstanding.

Albany's single biggest issue is p/r defense and getting beat off the dribble leading to fouls on the bigs or teams that can move the ball well get a relatively easy long range shot.

Albany's 2pt defense is one of the worst in the country, ranked 258, again a product of guards getting beat like a rented mule.

One move I've been contemplating is sitting Nichols and bringing him off the bench as a 2 guard. He isn't running the offense, doesn't move the ball...I thought he'd take the next step in his evolution and he hasn't. Start Clark!

Something to shake it up, but I have a feeling that won't end well lol.

IMO the problem is the BENCH. We really do not have one. Coach may have made a mistake by red-shirting all three Aussies? Problem one; no one has stepped up to spell Joe & David either offensively or more importantly defensively. Problem two; our bigs have to play soft/careful because again, no one has stepped up to allow them to play more aggressively. Pretty much every team we play, beats and fouls the heck out of us. Most teams seem content to keep sending bodies out not caring how many fouls they commit { last night hart ended with 3 players with four fouls and their big man fouled out with 10 minutes to play [so what, send another body out to foul.] Add some bad officiating to our INEFFECTIVE BENCH, and our starters simply cannot be as aggressive as they need to be. What a lot of us are calling BAD D, may be TOO cautious D. And for those being critical of Joe and David; they are (1) often forced to try and make something happen and (2) are more often than not, spent by too many minutes. I for one can't entirely blame them if they only go 50% on D at times, trying to conserve and pace themselves. Where is this deep BENCH, that a lot of us (me included) have been talking about all year? I for one am NOT seeing it.

You win.Don't know how many times we've heard it. Don't know if it was a trust issue, but playing Cremo and Nichols all those minutes tells me coach really wanted the OOC W's this year. With NIT at large chances out the window after yesterday, he can focus on getting Cremo and Nichols some rest.

I also do question red shirting all three Aussies especially with two incoming freshman next year as well. Odds of all five of them staying all four years to play are pretty much zero the way college basketball goes.

According to Wyland’s show, at halftime CB went into the locker room,, pulled out a chair, crossed his legs and said “since nobody on this team is upset about this game, I’m not going to be either.”
