With the SB win at UMBC, SB clinches the 5 seed, I think this means we play SB on 3/3 if we win both our last games..and UMBC wins one of their games..

I thought we were already locked into the 4 seed because even if we win out we don't have tie breakers against UMBC or Hartford if they "lose out".

If so and Stony Brook is locked in 5 as stated then that matchup is set

That's the scenario I come up with too Bob. I guess not bad. This season, SB comes up with an impressive win every once in a while like Rutgers and UMBC last night on he road, but has had numerous clunkers all season. Hopefully odds on our side for a clunker from them.

Mostly an academic exercise..but I don't think we're mathematically eliminated from the 3 seed yet.

If we win out and UMBC loses out..we're both 10-6. First tiebreaker is head-to-head..which we split. So..next tiebreaker..I believe..is record against the rest of the conference starting with the top. Both 0-2 vs. UVM. Both would be 1-1 against Hartford (only way UMBC loses out is by losing to Hartford on 2/27). UAlbany and UMBC would be in the 3 and 4 spots. Next would be Stony Brook in 5th place. We swept Stony Brook..and UMBC finished 1-1. I believe that would give us the tiebreaker and the 3 seed. The way the tiebreakers work..it's actually 'better' to win up games and lose down games than it is to beat the teams you should and lose to the teams you should.

Again..mostly academic at this point. Even if we take care of business at home against the bottom two teams in our conference..UMBC has a home game against Lowell which they should be able to handle. They do end the regular season with a tough road game at Hartford though.

So..I think it's as MRSGDG posted. UMBC's magic number is 1. Any UAlbany loss or UMBC win over the last two games clinches the 3 seed for them and the 4 for us.

Either way..a conference tournament game against Stony Brook was probably destined. We've played them in the tournament ever year since 2009-10..except 2015-16 for reasons that shall not be spoken of.

2009-10 - Quarterfinal Loss

2010-11 - Quarterfinal Loss

2011-12 - Semifinal Loss (last second tip-in)

2012-13 - Semifinal Win (Mike Black game-winning lay-up)

2013-14 - Title Win

2014-15 - Title Win (The Shot)

2016-17 - Semifinal Win

Just listened to CB on Wylands show and he DID NOT sound like he will have Travis for Saturdays game. Said he could not play vs Bing. Would not say what the actual injury was specifically. Mentioned that wed, thur, fri practices will be without him available for game.

Too bad for him being a senior . Accidents happen but he should have not been in the game at that point. But hey, that Maine game mattered just as much as Saturdays game, that's why we are playing out starters 35 mins, according to most!!!!!!!! Lol
