  1. I put this on the AE board, and figured I would put it here as well. Zoellner signed with AONS Milonas Athene, which is in the 2nd Division of Greece. http://www.scorersfirst.com/140.html?&language=en#528 Congrats to him.
  2. I saw on the CSTV.com recruiting page the other day that Graham is headed to DII Wisconsin-Parkside. And here is their press release about it: http://www.uwp.edu/athletics/sportstemp.cfm?storyID=869
  3. Duell technically was never supposed to get a scholarship for this upcoming year. He was to get one for the 07-08 year, barring any openings with scholarships. I'd think it would be pretty funny if he was passed over twice with open scholarships. I'm sure Duell and his street agent, a short stocky man who you guys all remember from the TB era, won't be too happy if Kojo doesn't get a release. All the more reason to think it isn't Orstin and his shady dealings, but a shameless street agent from Vermont behind all this!
  4. I got this from NJHoops this morning: He was a senior at LEAP this year, so I don't know if he is going to prep and come next year or what, but he definately sounds like another good pickup. He was contacted by St. John's, Wake Forest and Drexel in a feature article I found on him. Addresses a need for you guys, and just futhers what seems to be a stockpile of talent. The Danes just keep rolling them in... http://njhoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=555919 http://www.courierpostonline.com/apps/pbcs.../603100387/1002
  5. It is at least 10 if you count the 2 transfers that become eligible, maybe 11 as they might have gotten someone to fill Antwan Hardy's vacant scholarship since he transfering somewhere else. But you are right, I sometimes get alerts from the recruiting sites about AE teams and they come up most often. I would say that this past year they had about 25-30 stories where they are mentioned as a team showing interest in a player, which is a lot considering you might only get 10-15 for any other team in the league.
  6. I dont know if this has been posted yet, but seems UA is looking at a 5-7 PG from Chicago (not new to you guys though), named Aaron Johnson. From June 11th on Rivals: http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?...bany&CID=551820
  7. KA was a division I transfer (Hofstra); Tony is specifically talking about junior college transfers. I suppose if Josh Duell had gone from UVM to JC to Albany that wouldn't have counted, but I"m sure he'll be a PTPer at the TUC. 14872[/snapback] Duell will be more of a fixture at the TUC consession stands more likely.
  8. On a related recruiting note, apparently Albany has taken interest with a 6-8 Vermonter named Pat Bergmann. Pat Filien came back to Vermont a few times to watch him play supposedly. I've seen him play a few times, and he was never one to impress me as a D1 player. He just happened to be about 3-4 inches taller than most people. He also is quite thin. Scores a lot on putbacks. Stony Brook and Vermont are the other schools apparently showing some interest, but I tend to believe that all 3 schools I've said are showing passive interest unless he really proves himself on the AAU circuit this summer and works to improve his game. The kid has some potential, he has pretty decent hands for a big guy, needs a little work on his footwork and should bulk up. The upside is that he could grow to be 6-10 or so and he has long arms...would be a project, but maybe he is convinced to prep if he is serious about playing D1. Just thought I would let you guys know about it. Sort of an exciting time for Vermonters and basketball. We could see 3 kids from the state be playing Division I basketball in maybe a year or twos time. I cannot remember the last time that has happened for the state in terms of possibly getting scholarships. The last Vermonter to get a D1 scholarship was Kyle Cieplicki in 2003. Sorry to make it semi-Vermont centric, but I thought I would pass the info on!
  9. Duell is likely to end up at St Rose from the way I see it. He didn't start much at all this season because of injury, which was a result of coming back VERY out of shape.
  10. Hey guys, I would have to doubt Duell goes to UA. If he does, both our AD's have to sign a waiver for him to only sit out one year or he will lose one year if that doesn't happen. Duell has some ins at Siena...he dates Mick Doemel's sister and apparently his family is close with an assistant there. Nothing is definative however.
