That Joe Cremo trade to Villanova for Dev Holmes isn't looking so bad

You joke but have you been to the state of Morgan? It's really nice there.

Ohhhh....real talk? This team is a $ienashow and Benson is in a completely unenviable position that he alone put us in. Maybe a little less time picking the low hanging fruit of stadium seats and the women's tennis team and a little more time on personnel management???

We just gave up 422 yards to Morgan St. To reflect, at home...Morgan St managed 170 yards against Towson. We are in deep doo doo.

I seriously don't understand all of the negativity tonight. Five years ago every one of us would have been tickled purple to host (and beat) Oregon State in a one-possession game! Oregon State! Think about that man. That's a team from the Pac-12; not a winless team from one of the worst conferences in D1 football.

Especially with some talented WR's. Just get the ball into their hands.

Slant over the middle. I've only been asking for it for 4 years. I mean there is a reason why it's used in the NFL so much. It's high percentage and good for YAC.

I don't think the Vikings with Randy Moss in his prime though this many bombs in half a season. The most bizarre play calling I have ever seen.

Is it basketball season yet? Anyone know when the purple and gold game is? Lol

The NEC now allows 45 scholarships plus 18 need-based. St Fran went 70 yards in 4 minutes to take a 27-23 lead over Richmond with 1:12 left before losing. They have a RB who was knocking tacklers backward. Should still win but these aren’t your father’s Frankies.

AD Benson knows our concerns. He witnessed the game, he walked among the players. Mark saw the disappointment in the stands. Problem: he knows that we are stuck with Greg for a couple more years. Changing head coaches doesn't always work out. Recruitment is the key however; recruitment is not likely to improve under the current situation, no easy answers.

Gattuso was shrugging his shoulders non stop... It was tough to watch. I made it a point to observe him in long stretches. The man is lost and has no idea what to do. He must have really been convinced that they have talent to compete.

One play made the difference from being 0 - 3. The prospect of a winning season has dimmed considerably...lots of second guessing by the coach...assistant coaches looking a little loss

Now that I’m home with an adult beverage, let me just say this: I’m glad they won, they did not deserve to win, it was one of the sorriest passing performances I’ve seen at any level, the play calling was atrocious and Eli was being drowned out by a woman in 204 who had a potty mouth and knew how to use it. Five turnovers including a pick six on a throw a blind man wouldn’t make and they somehow pull it out. I wanted to be excited, but I was disgusted with what I saw. And that’s all I’ll say. Oh....Dev Holmes is all he’s cracked up to be and 51 yard FG...that was terrific. Glad McDonald finally got one for the distance.

This game has shades of holy cross. Awfully played but two sparks at the end and we pull it out.

Nothing middle of the field... At all. What an abortion of a coaching staff. This must be the Gattuso game plan. They did this all last year and we blamed Bernard. Hmm....

Morgan St. Morgan St. we are a CAA team that can’t dominate a MEAC team. Forget offense...we’ve given up 300 yards to Morgan St. in a half. My word. Right now, we are by far the cellar dweller is the CAA.

Bernard must be running it... Old times sake.

Then MacDonald (using his god given speed) gives Bernard a rope.

What kind of a $iena show is this? I can hear the coaching staff talk about game planning on the horrid feed How silly is our production crew

That TD was all the receiver. Vincent keeps over throwing. Dude one handed it and pulled it in.

This team isn't winning a CAA game this year. Just accept it now and it won't disappoint you.

And enough with this gold seating $iena. It’s a bad look on tv. Until we win consistently and we create demand, reduce the ducking prices. It’s been how many years the department had tried this weak attempt at revenue.

Maybe take a moment and reflect on what MANY have written on this board in relation to your posting. This post is the exact reason people get pissed off. 1- There are only 63 scholarships in Division 1 FCS 2- URI, for a FACT, has 58 fully funded scholarships and 10 of them are in-state. You know how i know...because I actually know people that are in the Athletic Department at the highest levels. Furthermore, it was discussed on T.V. during our game. That difference does make a difference in depth. Moreover, URI as down to 38 fully funded scholarships in 2013, which was to be their first year in the NEC. The program didn't ramp back up to the 58 level until last year because, even as of 2015, their were talks of ending the program and adding hockey. Up until they received a donation of $4 million two years ago...was the program considered "safe" for the time being...with upgrades to the stadium. They are STILL rebuilding (per se) as their was a lot of doubt on the program staying alive. Let's talking coaching. URI has 7 full time coaches and 2 part time coaches. Albany has 10 full time coaches and 3 part time coaches. That makes a difference. I am pretty sure that Fleming makes less than Gattuso, last time I asked (in 2017). He has a base of around 185k and gets $50k guaranteed from their FBS game. So, let's say he got a 5% raise last year (unlikely), he's making a base of approximately $194k, with 50k in additional guarantees. That's $254k in an area with the cost of living is equal to Albany (maybe less if he's in Kingston). Gattuso makes $271...and I don't know if that is complete with incentives...but I doubt it as he got a raise with the new contract and the original had a base of $230. Let's talk about expenditures. Albany spends a total of $4.8 million on the program, with $800k going to game day expenses. URI spends a total of $4.5 in expenses, with $850k going to game day. So, with less dollars allocated to out-of-state scholarship costs, Albany is spending "net" more than URI on football when you take game day expenses out of the base. URI plays in an absolute dump. We play in a comparative palace, aside from our abysmal locker rooms. Yes, the lockeroom issue is an issue for Albany and recruiting. One year is an aberration...two years...and URI has eaten our lunch. I am far from one to give up on a season...but right now URI has proven a hell of a lot more...with a lot less...this season. Stop behaving like Baghdad Bob with the intimation that 5 scholarships less than Albany means nothing. However, let me accept your argument for a second. If it doesn't matter, then would you agree that our coaching staff hasn't done a quality job with either game day coaching and / or recruiting; that's the only plausible explanation as to why URI has fared better than us this season? It's the only reasonable explanation that you can be left with if you cancel the arguments out.
