  1. There is absolutely NO CURRENT benefit. In fact, the only thing I'd like to see is a travel partner of some sort for UMBC. Otherwise, a 9 team league gives you 16 games plus the ability to play 10-12 OOC. I would prefer to see a DIII ban. We are going to see a ton of cost cutting in sports, and this will bring the world of the NCAA much closer to the 80's and 90's. We are blessed to live in an area where 12 hours in many directions can bring on a ton of great DI games. If the AE grows, i'd much prefer to see it woo back former members or some sort of scheduling merger with the northern CAA. It would not shock me at all to see this happening.
  2. We shall see. Every single state that has had athletes return are reporting players testing positive. So, if it is contained...it should be good. If it turns into an outbreak, may be a concern. Of course, we want everyone to be happy and healthy, playing ball and returning to class. So let's see. We can sure use the outlet.
  3. RMU is looking to make a move (long rumored) out of the NEC. Targets and target of both the Horizon League and the MAAC. Based on what was done with Monmouth, I can't see the NEC allowing BOBBY MO to stay as an affiliate member. Options: 1. Full Scholarship Big South. Would have the second worst facilities and travel costs; 2. MEAC- If the MEAC regains their football playoff spot, this could be an option. 3. MFVC or OVC- Not happening, they don't have the funds to handle a full jump to either conference and be anywhere near competitive. 4. Drop the program. Lot's of budget cuts will happen in ADepts. They have hockey, and that's expensive. Problem is they have the NCAA minimum of 6 men's teams right now...so they'd have to add another, less expensive male sport. Tough situation for our former Dane Coaching staff.
  4. Amir Shields just committed for 2020 yesterday. Quick athlete. https://twitter.com/mirshields
  5. Like I said. If online gives us anything, we will be insane offensively. Same with dline
  6. Kid is as big time as it gets. Was on track to be a star at Nebraska until a major knee injury. His brother was on the Saints, I think. Not sure if he got a Med waiver and we have him for three years or we get him for two. if he’s half the player he was pre injury we have a stud at safety. this year’s transfer pickups are very much like what JMU does each year. Gotta sag, Gattuso has this train on the track.
  7. If the offensive line (patched together with young kids and transfers and a few holdovers that are solid) gives us anything, then the offense will be even more prolific than last season. if we have a season...
  8. Honestly, they all do based on special teams. But if I had to guess, Juwan.
  9. Can't remember us ever having three at one time in a camp. Hopefully they make it to camp and onward. Good luck.
  10. You are correct. But, I would be shocked to see anyone who does not want a Master's degree utilize it.
  11. Craziest thing- this year is 100x more disappointing than last. Maddening is a good description. Bad Coaching in the Player Development Category Unfortunate Injuries Lazy off-season for some- If 75% of this team did what Hutch did in showing up early, working hard, wanting to gym rat / film study...this team would be alone in 2nd place. Lack of Basketball IQ
  12. Fair enough. Personally, I believe this will be the toughest off-season of WB's tenure. He needs to make a splash.
  13. Presumptuous...and a bit obnoxious to call me a die-hard Brownie.
  14. Not at all, it all comes from the top. But, he needs to re-evaluate everything. Staff, style of play, recruitment, etc. And frankly, the staff does a huge amount of recruiting and player development. But in the end, it's WB's philosophy and choices. So sure, he is to blame...but the first step is evaluating what to fix.
  15. Completely forgot about Jeremy. He was a stud. Those two...sharp coaches and recruiters.
  16. This is ridiculously hard for me to write....but I truly feel like Coach needs to look at his own staff and evaluate. It simply has not produced since the unfortunate departure of Chad O'Donnell. I truly believe he needs at least one, if not more fresh blood. We have had a strange year, and you need to account for injuries, etc. But the lack of progression and, in some cases severe regression, can't only be put on the kids. Right now, aside from Cam Healy and Trey Hutchinson, name me 3 other starters for next year. I'll wait while eating my burger...
  17. You just described the bigger problem in a nutshell. With every single big we have, there is a an issue and a positive. Hanks we have 4 on 5 offense but great d. Lulka- flat out zero this year. He's a nice young man, but I don't want to hear the excuses, injuries, etc. He is the most disappointing player to me. Can't even make bunnies. Hansen, agree on all the above...he just wasn't consistent until the tail end of the year. I actually like his game alot. Lauderdale- as many flashes as wtf's. There is a severe lack of development with our bigs.
  18. Sure...totally see the same as you...but are you telling me he's any worse than what we've had in the post this year? The kid hasn't had a nary of game experience, so I forgive him for missing assignments. I see the same from Lulka, Hanks, Hansen, and Lauderale.
  19. I just want to know why we didn't give French more time. I've been harping on it (privately) all year long. Really don't....
  20. Team looks like trash. I’ll say it Total trash.
  21. I’d still call it a huge waste of money
  22. Look, I applaud the ability to get the single largest public school athletic gift in NYS history. However, this is a waste of funds. I don't care how great your facilities are...no one wants to live in Vestal for 10 months a year from areas they would need to recruit to become a legit national powerhouse on a yearly basis, e.g. the deep south. These facilities are quite frankly better than MANY Power 5 facilities, including that of the SEC, Big 12, and ACC...regular baseball powerhouse leagues. If this gift was restricted to baseball only, i get it...not much they can do. But if not, this is a joke. If I were the soccer and lacrosse teams I would be pissed. They could have broken this up and made themselves a powerhouse, facility wise, in lax / soccer / baseball / softball / track and field, and built an indoor practice facility. Even bigger roadblock to get to consistent national prominence: academics. Coming off the heels of the basketball fiasco, no way are they lowering their standards that they would require to do what is necessary to become a power. I dunno...again, I applaud the ability to secure the gift...but I feel it is a waste of $$$.
