Quinnipiac Bobcats

Recommended Posts

Best of luck to former Great Danes Eric Eaton and Jon Iati as the Quinnipiac Bobcats take on Robert Morris in the Northeast Conference championship game this evening.

BTW----UAlbany beat Robert Morris at SEFCU on November 22--believe it or not.

Eaton left after their last championship in 06-07. Maybe brown losing him was a big factor. We have not had a winning season since he left.

I don't buy it...If we are to place blame for this year at the feet of Brown...so should we place the praise of the NCAA years at his feet.

The two are inseparable! He is the program...assistant coaches come and go, players come and go but Will Brown is the program.

He has been down before, he's built it up from nothing, he can and IMO will do it again. The guy who recruiting and coached Jamar, Lillis, Wilson, Levi, Jordan, Iati didn't just all of a sudden forget what it takes or how he did it.

Just like I don't think it's all bad luck that we are down now...I don't believe he just got lucky with Jamar.

Good luck to Eaton, Iati and the Bobcats..both were class acts while they were here..and were important parts of our best DI years.

I don't think it's a knock on Coach Brown to say that Eaton was a big part of our two NCAA appearances..Brown hired Eaton..and then promoted him to Assoc. Head Coach in order to keep him the next year..I think it's a credit to Brown for hiring someone like Eaton.

As Assistant/Assoc. Coach......

Eaton at Holy Cross = 3 titles in 4 years

Eaton at UA = 2 titles in 2 years

Eaton at Quin = 0 titles in 2 years or 1 title in 3 years if they win tonight (with a team that has never been to NCAAs)

That's 63% of the time he ends up in the tournament, that's pretty good for one bid conferences.

Good luck tonight!!!!

Moore and staff have built the program from the ground up. A win tonight would be huge for them.

Quinnipiac, 15-0 at home and 18-0 in games played in the state of Connecticut

It's not quite that easy to win an NCAA birth.

As an assistant Filien had a run of about 5 straight years with UVM (3) and UA (2)

If Quinnipiac won would you start counting Iati's NCAA appearances as a coach

Quinnipiac, 15-0 at home and 18-0 in games played in the state of Connecticut - purplehaze

Make that 15-1 and 18-1 the only bad thing is the "1" is the only one that really counts.

Moore, Piekell and so far Lonergan all haven't been able to get it done and all have finished first with a good team.

It's really tough to close the deal.
