The question becomes does UA go in-house or bring in new blood. I would like to see in-house.Wonder if he will name succesor or be involved in who replaces him.

I would think Simpson and McCarthy are high on the list.

The only thing we can ask for is the university to do a thorough national search for a replacement. Preferably within Coach Ford's coaching tree, but if not, someone who share his ideals and coaching methodology.

This is a new era for UAlbany football. This will be one of the most sought after jobs in FCS. No reason to settle.

I don't know if it will impact your list, but Delaware hired Rutger's Offensive Coordinator last year. That level is possible. I don't think we should be considering FCS assistants unless they are within the Ford Coaching tree.

What a great man; impacted my life with simple words. Good luck to him!!!

I do think that the search will likely go outside the University. Just my thoughts. This is a potentially fantastic job for a very good coach. I personally like Rossomando. He would continue the tradition of excellence in the people and player category.

We all knew this day was coming sooner rather then later...incredible career and legacy. I'm glad he gets to go out having seen/coaches in a stadium that will bare his name for as long as the facility exists.

Regarding the coaching search...all hires are important, but this one even more so...it's critical to show that UA football can continue growing and moving on to better things even with him no-longer at the helm. Dr. McElroy has a pretty solid history of hires...hope he hits pay-dirt again.

Arguably, the biggest hire in McElroy's career...and arguably the biggest hire in the modern day era of sports at Albany. This hire will determine the direction of the school. Furthermore, there won't be a "hometown" discount. They will be shelling out some big boy numbers for this gig.
