HC @ UA - Game Thread 6PM

What happened on the fumble-TD play? How did the ball get loose, and how did the HC player get hurt?

 

Great hit. Ball popped up. We scooped and scored.

Seems low. Berm was full. I thought it was good consider Labor Day weekend and coming off a 1-11 season.

Aside from winning dramatically, the positives I saw were what Coach Gattuso preaches:

 

-fewer penalties than HC

-no turnovers

Looked good in pics, visitor side seemed empty

Visitors side was almost full the first half.

Now, I'm dying to know why... on our last offensive drive and 4 down set... we chose to go deep on 2nd and 9

and 3rd and 9??? We had brought it out to the 30 already and were moving the ball. And we had 5 minutes left on the clock.

 

Other than that, FIRST WIN at BFF and first for the new era.

 

Let's hope that comeback is a sign of things to come. Can't win if you're not in striking distance.

That was an ugly victory. Much credit to HC for a tough game played.

Cen Conn St beat #7 Towson 31-27 -- big first win for Rossamundo. And big worry for us next weekend.

Some stats: CCSU 273 yds passing (22-29 com/att), 192 yds rushing , scored from 1 with :36 left, 8000+ attendance. Just over 2 hours from UA .

I though today the defensive line and linebackers were EXCEPTIONAL. The secondary needs some help but aren't they young? There were some good plays back there and some standing around not sure what to do on some long throws, couple of times they got beat deep.

 

Offense needs a ton of work...QB play for 90% of the game was very poor. High throws, throws into the ground, repeated attempts to force the ball into double and a time or two triple coverage. Offensive line protection was mostly good.

 

Definitely stuff to work on...next week is going to be tough.

Funny you say that. They played a video or audio clip on the speakers before the game of Gattuso talking about guts and winning the 4th quarter and that's exactly what happened tonight.

Our offense got better as the game went on (adjustments after half time?)...and the defense also did very well although they let up some big 3rd and long plays. Then again, that QB was very good as previously stated. Other than Fiacci, I liked what happened tonight.

 

What a crazy game. I have NO VOICE.
