Last year at this time both the men's and women's soccer teams had never won a regular season conference title or gone to the NCAA tournament.

Last season the men won a regular season championship and the women won a bid to the NCAAs.

Now both teams have been picked first in the pre-season polls for the 2016 season.

More Fall sports news:

Yesterday field hockey was unanimously picked to finish first to win the East Division (Stanford, Cal, Pacific, and UC Davis are in the West Division.)

Today volleyball was picked to win the conference for the first time since 2013.

Women's cross country is improved, and will likely compete for a championship.

Football and men's cross country need some help!

Up to #22 in RPI

But no votes in the NCAA Coaches' Poll. http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/soccer-men/d1

Lowell in 9th RPI, only 18th in the poll. 48 teams in the tournament? I don't think we can count on an at-large yet.

I couldn't find conference rank, but all teams in America East except Hartford (138) are in the top 100.

Amazing what happens when you can play them at our place.

Fall sports at home so far this season:

Men's Soccer: 4-0-1

Women's Soccer: 3-1

Field Hockey: 7-0

Volleyball: 2-0

Football: 2-1

Total: 18-2-1 or a 0.881 winning percentage...

Nice...I always forget Holy Cross.

Post corrected. Of note is that the women's soccer loss was against Seton Hall and the football loss was against the 6th ranked team in the country, in 3 OTs.
