Recruiting - 2018

Recommended Posts

I am sure there a plenty of offers out there the VC doesn't have, but my targets would be:

C: Atun Maričević

SG: Kawsnise Wilkins

PG: Banks

2 would be Juniors next year and 1 would be a sophomore so it would kind of even out the classes. All 3 would help fill positions of need.

Then if we could fill the last 2 spots with grad transfers of our own, it would make the scholarships be at 3 Sr, 3 Jr, 2 Soph, 5 Fresh and a walk-on.

He was always a stupid long shot...

A higher conference but South Florida has been awful in the American. They're 8-46 in conference the last couple of years.

5 open scholarships..after the Lauderdale verbal. Front court will have no DI game experience. I'd figured 2..maybe 3..of those open spots go to guys who can play the 4 and or 5? Class wise..maybe 2 grad transfers, 2 JUCOs (juniors or soph qualifiers) and then a flyer on a high upside freshman? In general I think the two biggest needs are experience..mostly in the front court..and offense.

Either way..lots of different routes for the coaching staff to take.

The drawing board better be a big one.  This could take some effort to resolve.

According to VC post on AE board...Albany is into this kid. Was a one time 3 star recruit, I can see why...that release! Yikes...lol

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread

Albany is recruiting Michael Green, transfer from Longwood.

Interesting case: went to Northern Arizona for two years, transferred to Longwood and sat out the year as a walk-on and did not play with the team. He's eligible to play immediately. Holds two offers from Bethune-Cookman and Portland State.

Green would be nice. A point guard with some D1 experience anyway.

Hard to imagine the staff would have thought they'd have this many scholarships to fill. They're going to have to pull some rabbits out of their hats.

Trying to get experienced big guys in the spring seems like a tough haul. . Given how many grad transfers there are out there, who knows? Maybe we can get lucky.

Kassoum Yakwe just announced he's leaving St. Johns as a grad transfer. Power forward who came off the bench. He went to high school at Our Saviour New American, same as Jamar, Tim Ambrose and Suero.
