UA'08 282 Report post Posted August 4, 2017 Forgot we have a new scoreboard coming this year. Any word on how it's going to look?
Clickclack 610 Report post Posted August 4, 2017 Forgot we have a new scoreboard coming this year. Any word on how it's going to look? What I've been told is substantial and not rinky-dink. Have to believe the $$$ they are spending is with an eye towards using it in a much improved/renovated SEFCU. I believe it goes in next week or week after. Eli 432 Report post Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) Totally forgot about that bit of news. Great news (again) on a Friday! Maybe it'll look like the Dallas Cowboys scoreboard, just in a 1:8 size ratio lol. I kid. Edited August 4, 2017 by Eli
Phoenix 121 Report post Posted August 5, 2017 Didn't Coach Brown at some point say on twitter that it was news to him that we're playing LIU? I took that as a pretty good hint that they're not on the schedule.

UA1882 100 Report post Posted August 8, 2017 (edited) Just saw that Siena ranked 91 in average attendance. We averaged lower then 3000 fans. I know we have had this conversation before but this seems to be a good out of conference schedule. Really hoping the athletic department attempts puts a real emphasis on attendance in the upcoming year. Edited August 8, 2017 by UA1882

UA1882 100 Report post Posted August 9, 2017 I think because of your pure hatred of Siena (I do too), you missed the point . Attendance equals revenue, popularity, and much much more. We have had the better team for the better part of a decade. I'm hoping that the administration acknowledges this and are working on improving our attendance because I believe we can average 4000 if we put serious effort toward it. This is an good out of conference schedule . I guess we will see.
Clickclack 610 Report post Posted August 9, 2017 Looks like we'll open at home against Iona. https://twitter.com/lohudinsider/status/895348510157148164
DC615657 13 Report post Posted August 9, 2017 Hopefully opening up against a quality opponent helps with attendance. Iona has a lot of new players this season so playing them early might be an advantage as they will probably still be trying to gel as a team.
Phoenix 121 Report post Posted August 9, 2017 Should be a great game! High quality and recognizable opponent for the (presumably) season and home opener on a Friday night.
DC615657 13 Report post Posted August 9, 2017 (edited) Should be a great game! High quality and recognizable opponent for the (presumably) season and home opener on a Friday night. It will be the opener. The college basketball season begins on the second Friday in November. The NCAA is looking into moving that up to the Tuesday before the second Friday in November starting the 2018-19 season. http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2017-04-19/college-basketball-committee-discusses-new-start-date-season Edited August 9, 2017 by DC615657
DC615657 13 Report post Posted August 9, 2017 I haven't seen this posted anywhere but the coaches voted to eliminate the 8/9 game which has not been need the last 4 season as UMass-Lowell has been transitioning to Division 1. Also the playoffs this year will span 8 days as opposed the 11 the last two season. The Quarterfinals will be on March 3, the semis will be on March 6 and the championship will be on March 10. http://www.americaeast.com/news/2017/6/8/211619603.aspx
