Bernard Clark headed to Robert Morris as Head Coach

Not good news. Clark is a great Defensive coach, which has been the strong part of the team since Coach Gatusso hired him. My BIG concern is that guys who have committed to Albany will uncommit or not sign the NLI because they think Clark is leaving!!! Which is why I am Shocked that this thread would be started the DAY BEFORE NLI signings are to take place.

You really think those kids get all of their UA news from here? I dunno...seems far fetched...IMO kids probably knew before anyone here had any inkling.

Doesn't matter - Still do not think it appropriate to 'release alleged news' such as this before it is actually made public. I misjudged when I thought our goal was to be, ultimately, positive to the program. I do not see this as positive. We are not reporters tying to get a jump on some 'news' that might be negative toward the program. Just my position I guess.

Due respect, Eli is correct. Recruits know about this well before it is released.

My apologies - It was announced on the UA Football page today - I still don't like the timing BUT he is being announced tomorrow at a news conference at the School so I guess they had no choice.

I can think of one assistant he could take with him...lol.

Dudzinski has several years of DC experience at Maryland and UMass so he seems a no brainer.

Does this unammed assistant have anything in common with Mr. Clark?

It’s almost Christmas, and in the spirit of the upcoming holiday I am trying to be kind....though I hear the weather is nice in Moon Township.

Gattuso declined to say whom he's hiring to replace Clark, a former University of Miami and NFL linebacker. Gattuso said he'll look at all avenues but has people already on his staff capable of handling the job.
"He's a great coach,'' Gattuso said of Clark. "He does a great job getting kids to play for him, very enthusiastic, very hard-nosed. We have some people in place and we'll be making an announcement in the not-too-distant future. ... I'm very confident we'll continue the great defense we've been playing, really, for the past three years."
Gattuso said it's likely Clark will bring a couple of UAlbany assistants with him to Robert Morris.

Agreed - I do wonder if he’ll want to be in Albany after his son graduates (I think he’ll be a senior).

Yeah, I didn’t think about that. He’s tasted the top level so I doubt his long term plans are to be a DC at the FCS level. Nice as the weather here in Albany.
