Coach Brown on post game radio..

-Told Costa.. 2 days ago.. you will be first guard off bench..knew we'd probably see zone wanting to put him in to shoot 3s.. so put him in

-David has been playing under control for most part, making effort to get into lane and give ball to players

-As David's play (overall not just offense) the team has gotten better, takes pressure off of Joe and Travis

-Toughness wins on the road

-Travis and Grieg give you everything they have all the time

Cremo missed 5 shots from the free throw line today. Didn't know that was possible. Great free throw line defense by Hartford.

Coach said on radio he may have tired legs.. and jokingly said he knows Joe will be in the gym more than he normally is to practice his FTs but doesn't want him to go overboard.

Coach Brown on ESPN3 post game interview...

-We didn't play great basketball but made plays when we needed to

-We decided to defend this game which we didn't do when we played them at home

-Missed a lot of freethrows, but we can work on

-Hard when you play hartford when Atia is off the floor because all 5 can shoot a 3

-We have to give up 2s, if we didn't want them to beat us on the 3s, so it looks like we give up

-Anderson in the game.. been practicing well, Campbell best defensive guard, if he isn't helping us offensively, then make an exec decision then we could get Costa good clean looks

-Took Costa out few mins since he wouldn't shoot on open 3s

Nice win on the road. The team put themselves back in good position. Steal a win against UMBC and have Vermont take down Hartford and things will look better. Shame it has to be this tight down the stretch and have this much scoreboard watching but oh well. Just keep winning!

Other than getting beat 2 times by uvm... We've been playing very well since the 0-2 start and a bad bing loss.

Even on the road, is it “stealing” a win when we beat them by 44 at home?

Good point. I forgot how much we dominated UMBC at home in the first game. They are still sitting in second though. I would expect the game in their new gym to be tougher but hope it will not be. My confidence in this Albany team comes from the fact that they know how to win in tough games and tight spots. The guys on the floor, for the most part, are battle tested. They show up when the stage is big. UMBC hasn't won in years (maybe when green and proctor were there?) and Hartford has never been a winner. It obviously would be nice to slide into that 2 spot if possible though. Avoiding the 4/5 is most important in my opinion.

WTH is up with these late whistles? Wow.

I was yelling at the refs at the game about this. Shot goes up, misses, rebound, almost turning up court and then whistle. Happened three times. Twice against us and once against them. Terrible.

I have never seen the last sixty seconds of basketball time go by so slowly.

My son had to hit the restroom so we walked out with 40 something second lefts up 8 or 9. What happened?

I thought the team played well. Some stupid mistakes, had some real trouble with the zone they were playing for a stretch in the second half. Several turnovers. Brown was not happy. Good to see Costa contribute some nice minutes and good threes. HAving a solid three point shooter other than Joe on the court is big. Campbell doesn't scare anyone.

Also, it looks like to me that Cremo is line driving his foul shots more than usual. He is a bit of a line drive shooter but they look lower than normal which could hurt his accuracy. Still 80% is still damn good.
