Poll Question

An FCS football championship would bring more money and notoriety to the university. and bigger TV ratings. I'm pretty sure the FCS championship outdraws the lax championship on ESPN.

In my opinion no question FCS football would bring the most regional exposure. I think it would do wonders for our attendance in the CD. No, it won't bring national attention but locally a football championship would be a big deal I believe.

Agreed- it would be a big deal locally but not nationally. Maybe it's because I live in an SEC dominated region, but I don't remember hearing anything about JMU or NDSU this year (outside of our own bubble at least). That being said, I think a Lacrosse national championship would be a big deal locally too, and give us a decent amount of exposure nationally.

My money is on LAX. That'll give us Peter Hooley type national exposure.

I am just looking forward to the snow ending and seeing lacrosse, baseball and softball. I saw 1 lacrosse game this year and no baseball or softball. Generally I see 100 baseball games a year. Will be seeing college world series and lacrosse championship this year. Both next season for football and basketball can wait. This basketball season still has sweet 16 for me before it is over

Money and exposure are two different things. If you are talking about money football brings more people into the stands so youll make more money. It also costs a ton to fund 66 full rides. If you are talking exposure, the lacrosse team has been on sports center top 10 probably a dozen times. Football, maybe once?

FBS Football. Need to get into the MAC.

Eventually the MAC will join the B10 in adding Lax. Thats when we parlay our lacrosse success into a FBS opportunity

Not exactly sure what you mean by "more people in the stands." In the sport in general or for UA??

UA 5.5 home football games per year x 6000 per game (maybe being generous here) = 33,000 fans per year.

Basketball 15.5 home games per year (not counting AMeast tournament) x 3000 per game (again perhaps being generous) = 46,500 fans per year.

I dont even know what we are comparing myself lol.

Football will always have a higher avg per game total as they only play once a week on a Saturday and it is more of an event. Larger alumni base since rosters have 85+, players families, coaches families etc, all increase attendance numbers.

Basketball is hard to compare as it has triple the home games and they fall on weekdays and a few weekends. The per game attendance number will always be lower, but overall total will outdraw football.

Lacrosse is growing. If they had more weekend Saturday night games in April/May this season you would see 5k or more easy
