University at Albany  Executed Date: 03/26/2018
A consultant is required to provide full design and construction administration services for a 148,125 GSF rehabilitation of the Physical Education building. The work will involve hazardous materials and asbestos abatement, selective demolition, new windows, pool infill, ADA upgrades, interior partitions and finishes including acoustical treatment, new and modified mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, tele-communications, and security systems. An updated program study will be required to brush up on the previous program study competed in October 2015. Phasing will be required during construction. Separate construction bids will be necessary to accommodate the different types of work, i.e. reconfigure space to accommodate two departments: The Department of Athletics and The Office of Campus Recreation, gym renovations, and locker room renovations. Design Services will initially proceed to Schematic Phase for the entire project and the first construction phase is expected to be 22% of the whole project. Upon review, evaluation and approval by the Fund, the first phase and remainder of the project may be released for continuation of Design Services. The estimated construction value for the first construction phase is $7 - $8M. The estimated construction value for the entire project is $35 M.

He is about to go on trial and then off to prison :D

The AG just flipped developer Joe Nicolla; dropped charges against him, he's now expected to be a key witness against Kaloyeras. Trial in June

New Jacksonville University Lacrosse Facility

We NEED this!  With big schools starting lacrosse programs (Utah, future PAC10 schools ?) and many programs with new or newer lacrosse facilities (Michigan, USMA, Hopkins, etc) we something to compliment Casey Stadium and our great coaching staff.

I'd make it a little larger and include indoor box lacrosse "arena", maybe depending on location also include room for FH.

OR

Incorporate into a field house facility with football offices/locker rooms behind the visitors bleachers at Casey.

It's nice but what we need before anything else is SEFCU fixed...UVM has their first permitting meeting with the city on later this month...so they are slowly inching forward

May 22 meeting... https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/PZ/DAB/Agendas

Please. This is nothing.  The football stadium at Jax is a joke and they have zero facilities for Lax.  So they are getting offices and lockerrooms?  Not earth shattering.

Doesnt move the needle at all and we are not getting a box arena.

We need SEFCU renovated and an indoor practice facility, followed by the end zone facility for Football, which clears a ton of space to add sq footage for sports like lax.

Kids will come to Albany for the tuition, Scott Marr, the style of play, playing in a stadium...and (can’t believe we can say this) playing in front of some of the best and largest fan bases in the nation. Not because of a lax only field house

Well aware of this new facility at JU since my daughter just finished her sophomore year there(does not play on lax team) and of course mail and email asking for donations from parents.  I know the AD and mens coach want JU to be the premier mens (and women's) lax program of the deep South as they are the only D1 program in Florida and improved facilities along with conference titles will attract home talent to stay in FL ( ie. Davis Diamond).  True, Milne Field needs improvement for both lax and football, and I am sure that will occur as President Cost, a JU alum, is not shy about building and improving facilities.

imho. First priority: Field house. Indoor Track and big enough for football & lacrosse practice and able to accommodate a lacrosse game for inclement weather. Second priority: Sefcu upgrades.

I couldn't disagree more...every program like track and football have gotten new facilities. It's time for MBB/WBB who continue to win despite very little being invested from a facilities standpoint into these programs.. Quite frankly...track pales in comparisons on the importance scale to basketball. As for football, their budget has grown significantly, they have a new stadium...(still losing biggly) they can wait for field house.

It's time to take care of MBB/WBB

Agreed.

FB got theirs. Time for BB to get theirs. LAX is 3rd in line in terms of priority in whatever they need. All other sports (T&F, baseball/softball, volleyball, whatever)...deal with the scraps. If there are no scraps, it is what it is.
