Game 1: MBB @ Iona 11/09: 8:00pm

Recommended Posts

It's time to start the season! I don't know much about Iona this year, but they are picked at the top of the MAAC every season.

Game will be streamed on ESPN+. It's still unclear to me if you will be able to watch if you have ESPN3.

Predictions? Thoughts?

This should be a good first game. I think we lose by 5 or so due to how new our team is.

Wild. I wonder whose side of the story is the correct one.

Siena would have found a way to cover this up.

Considering the school did an investigation and booted the player and the coach is still there, I think that should give us the answer to that.

Also as pointed out on the Iona board the school in question isn't sienna so Danes RGood's assumption seems reasonable ?

We've seen crazier things happen and the wrong party stick around...but anyway, helps us in our game against them. lol.

I think I will have a lot of fun watching this team work this year. No expectations and a bunch of great young men working their butts off and doing well in school. That much is a guarantee (qualified because you can't control everything) with Coach Brown and despite criticisms, I really appreciate that.

After reading a few articles about him it seems either he finds trouble or trouble finds him. He was suspended for big game in HS, was suspended for breaking team rules at Illinois St, left Illinois St for a JUCO. Now this. He claims the Iona thing was self defense.

Asante Gist, who scored a ton of points at Eastern Kentucky Kentucky his freshman year was a mid-season transfer to Iona. He wasn't supposed to be eligible until January but the NCAA gave him a waiver so he'll he eligible for our game.

Between the grad transfer rule and now this waiver, as an Albany fan I just want to say, "thanks so much NCAA for all you've done for Albany basketball recently."

Not sure if anyone has said it on this board yet, but the Iona game is officially listed as being on ESPN3 now. Was a toss up between ESPN3/ESPN+ last I saw.
