I fully understand these are nice college kids and student athletes. That being said ladies and gentlemen CAMPBELL is the reason our offense looks so bad. And in my opinion he does not make up for it on defense. Let me explain...

The defensive player guarding Campbell plays about 10 to 15 feet off him making it nearly impossible to drive to the hoop or get the ball down low. When he Is out of the game and we made our little run they are forced to guard all 5 positions.

Again not trying to be mean and I know Brown has forgotten more about basketball then a know. Brown is a loyal guy and wont admit it but unfortunately I'm right about this.  Campbell should get 10 to 15 minutes a game no more.

I'm starting to come around to your way of thinking. Even on defense he has cement shoes. Where he's good is understanding rotations, where he needs to be etc but laterally he gets beat a lot.

UA did win the second half by 1 point. The terrible shooting woes in the first half combined with BU not missing on the outside was the difference. I didn't catch any post game interview, I'm curious what Brown said.

Is UA going to start posting post game interviews and press on youtube like other teams do?

I've agreed on the offensive end since last season but always felt his defense was very good.  I thought he played good D in the first half but didn't play much in the second half so it wasn't noticeable.  I do think he is a big liability on the offensive end.

The defense as a whole is terrible. Rotation is the biggest issue. Campbell is the best of the group, however it truly does not make up for it on the offensive end. Not even close. If he was a very good or elite defender he would make the defense better as a whole. He does not!!!!!

On the plus side I though Healey looked really good and lulka also solid... De Sousa was solid as well. Something to build on...

True , also the 2 that are hurt should be a couple of the better young players on the team . Thats something to be very happy about.

Also let me ask everyone this.  When he is out of the game does the defense look remarkably worse? Because with a very good defensive player the answer should be 100 percent yes. I can tell you with 100 percent certainty the answer is no.

Thing that really surprised me today with our size... How badly we got smacked around on the boards. That's pretty shocking...

I was following the live stats throughout the game. Lost the rebound battle by 7 in the first half. Mid to late second half it was within 3 but then went back up to end losing the battle by 7, 40-33.  EDIT: Amazingly we had more offensive rebounds with 14 to BUs 12.

There were a couple bright-ish spots.  First, only 8 turnovers and second 7 steals.

Hoping they can start to put it all together.  Early the game the offense was so passive and just passing around the arc and occasionally throwing it inside then in the second half they started to get more aggressive.  Need to stay aggressive on offense.

When u watch albany's offense and wonder why it does not look smooth and they look cramped,  it's because they are not guarding Campbell. Sooo frustrating to watch.

And its made worse when he throws up yet another 10-15ft brick. His game should be as follows:

1) Play defense as hard as he can

2) Cut to the basket on offense and hope for layups

3) Crash the boards

He should not be shooting deep 2's or even 3's. That's not your game or your role.

Not amazing - you only get offensive rebounds when you miss shots.

Observations: love what I see from Healy. Clark was rugged. Lauderdale looks lost and is not athletic. Desousa showed some sparks and looks to be a good one.  Hank is a work in progress, but has potential. Lulka is decent. Campbell is what we all know Campbell is. Sasha looks raw. Great ball movement by BU and their bigs are definitely more athletic and polished than ours. I could swear they said BU beat UVM. Not so. Our shooting was brutal in the first half. In the Gazette, Brown said that he was most disappointed at their effort on defense and that there’s 8 guys that still do not understand how hard you have to play to be competitive at this level. Seven turnovers was nice! ESPN + feed on my iMac was pretty flawless. I need to recalibrate my expectations and observations to the inexperience on the floor.
