I know the students were all out of town, but I honestly can't remember SEFCU being as quiet as it was last night. Is attendance going to be that terrible all season?

Prepares us for the next game. UW-Milwaukee had 2100 for their “homecoming” and 895 vs LIU in an arena that seats 10,700

Siena drew 4908 tonight, for their home opener at the TUC, against Lehigh.

Yes, I've been vocal on this board about Albanys sports snobbery, and the Knicks at TUC, but it has gotten bad lately. Didnt we average 3500 just a few seasons 2ago?  SEFCU Arena, even with its desperate need of an upgrade, is still a really loud, fun environment when there are 3500+ there.

I wouldn't say he's found his shot lol. He's still like 4-9, 3-10 most games. When he's going 6-10 due to hitting easy layups and cuts to the basket or put backs, then we can talk about him being 'back'. He's hit some big ones lately but that doesn't negate all the bad misses he's had over the last year and 5 games.

Funny quote by Will Brown, from Michael Kelly’s (Gazette) Twitter page...

Brown on Healy, who had 22 tonight: “He’s just out there, smiling. He gets beat for a backdoor layup, he smiles. He turns it over, he smiles. He hits two 3s in a row, he smiles. I pat him on the back, I yell at him — he smiles. He’s just a free spirit out there, having fun.”

Not sure I agree with Brown here. I watch Healey a LOT as he's probably my most favorite player on this years team and the kid seems to be calling himself a 'f'in idiot' under his breath after every mistake lol.

Agreed. When SEFCU is packed like it is for AE title games, it's AMAZING. Love it.

I was told parking at Dutch was $10 for oneonta (and I  presume vs  holy Cross)That isn't really encouraging people who don't have season tickets to go to more games.

Marketing at Albany is an absolute joke. I have at least 6 ideas to increase attendance and I'm a nobody . It's as if they dont even try. There has to be a reason for that. I assume they did a cost analysis and came up with the fact that if they spent more money it would not make a difference. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

Either way it's very very said to see 1500 people at a Division 1 basketball game.

Highest average attendance was 3390 in 2014-15, followed by 3175 in 2006-7, 3161 in 2015-16, and 3031 in 2007-8. Last year was 2474.

Win and more fans will show up, but don’t expect hordes to come to see UM-Lowell

And just to manage expectations, America East averaged 1793, MORE than the Ivy, Patriot, and NEC, only 134 less than the MAAC even with what Siena reported. Higher leagues? We’re about average for the CAA and MAC.Have NONE of these 60-odd schools  tried anything  to attract fans? Conference USA or Missouri Valley? 3700-4000.

Vermont, and Bing or Brook if they’re good, are our only opponents who may bring more than a few dozen fans.

Winning not just the conference but an NCAA game or two is the only way I see to turn local attitudes around

Exactly! I watch the games on ESPN+ now. Not going to pay $10 to park every game. Too many home games and too many ten spots to park. If they are making money off it, however, great.

My guess is they are gouging on parking because they don't make anything on food due to that stupid vendor contract. Since ticket sales are low, they have to supplement income some other way.

Orr...they are trying to gouge/maximize every stream available to them...running a D1 athletic dept. isn't cheap. I have to assume they have done some price/cost analysis to charge what they do but who knows.

I did a cost price analysis and noted that staying home costs roughly 50 cents a game. No contest.

No, it costs you $0.50/game plus the added enjoyment of being their live. You lose that by not going. That has value.

The question then becomes, how much do you value 2-3 hours of enjoyment. I still find it a value. No I'm not paying for parking because I have a SEFCU pass, but it's worth it to me.

I have 4 season tickets, and many games I used only 2 of them. I try to give some away to come games and people won't take them. To me the wasted seats just get averaged into my costs.

How much do you value your enjoyment?
