Last Up: L (69-65) vs Holy Cross
Next Up: @ Milwaukee (1-4, win against LIU in OT 92-87 and losses to BC 75-53, U. ND 63-60, FIU 86-83 and Cincinnati 74-63)
TV/Streaming: ESPN+
Local Radio: TBD

UA started out rough against HC but in the 2nd half almost came back from 18 down to win the game. They forced overtime and just ran out of steam. Promising exhibit though from this young team and showed that they have some resolve and don't give up.

UM will be another tough test as they have played some good teams pretty close.

This game is the first as part of the Belfast Classic.

Not sure why, but the Oneonta site says that their game against UA was part of the Belfast Classic as well.

https://oneontaathletics.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=542

Maybe that is why the game was played yesterday. I am sure the original schedule had oneonta on November 6.

It could be that the game counts differently towards the number of games a team can play in a season if it is part of an exempt tournament. Also there probably is an amount of time the start and finish of an exempt tournament.

Just my best guess.

I too thought that the game was originally our first game of the year. Glad I wasn't the only one who caught that.

You are right on both guesses.

There are two area's that JUMP off the page analytically that if we can clean up, we are going to be much better.

- TO's - ranked 308, it is very very hard to win games consistently with the number of turnovers we are making. I understand why they are making them, the game hasn't slowed down for many of these kids. They may be nervous and rushing, pressing etc. This should get better with time.

- Finishing inside the arc/2pt fg% - ranked 328th in the country. Right now, they simply can't finish at the rim at all. Not really sure why.

Clean those two things up at least to acceptable levels and this Albany team will win a lot of games.

I really think #2 has lot to do with the reasoning you gave for number one.  They are rushing and pressing too hard. There is no way that Lulka's touch around the rim is as bad as it's looked.  Last night he got a rebound and because HC had that shot blocker he rushed, spun and just sort of chucked it towards the basket with little control. Once he slows down a little and sort smooths it out, more of those will drop.  This is just my opinion and I may be totally wrong but all the big men seem so rushed all the time with no Sam Rowley type smoothness we saw later in his career.
