[MBB] Game #10: 12/11/18 - 7PM @ Yale

Recommended Posts

Last Up: W (82-63) vs Monmouth
Next Up: @ Yale (4-3, with big wins against CAL and Miami and close loses to Memphis and Vermont)
TV/Streaming: ESPN+
Local Radio: Possibly 104.5 FM

Anthony Rizzuto has ARRIVED. Dude balled out last game. Brent Hank also had himself a ball game down low and did a lot of good things. Clark clarked and put up points. Solid play all around last time out although we started slow.

Up next is Yale who, based on their schedule, has done quite well. Very well actually. CAL and Miami might be 'down' this year but they are big time schools. Memphis isn't the D. Rose Memphis team but they are not bottom of the D1 barrel either. Vermont is Vermont. This will be a very tough game, especially on the road, and might be a learning opportunity for our guys.

This may be borderline impossible... Yale a 15pt favorite.

Hopefully we continue to develop and grow and make it a ball game.

Yeah I've seen it anywhere from 15-17. Less interested in a W/L and more interested in how we look. Never know though, could steal it, and I wouldn't be surprised if we do.

This is pretty much my approach to the season. I realize it's going to be a less than perfect year and just want to see development, etc. for next year.

Brown on Wyland today. Flory will practice half-court this week and full-court next week, hopes for final clearance to play on the 19th or 20th.

Talked about Rizzuto helping our spacing, getting Clark more room to drive. Said Campbell's 3-pt shooting is 36% for the year, which is fine, but is talking to him about his shot selection from closer in, where his % is in the 20s.

Didn't say much about Yale except to praise Ivy League talent in general. Team will travel today.

Said bigs don't learn how to post up any more, everybody wants to shoot threes.

Called Healy "Cambo" ("as you call him, Rodger"), I dunno if he's just sucking up to Wyland.

T-U story has WB saying we played more zone vs Monmouth (1-3-1) than we did all year. Yale shoots 36.6% from three and averages 83 ppg so I don’t know if the zone will do much.

WB also told Campbell to just concentrate on defense because his shooting was affecting his D, just relax and the shots will start to drop, if he takes good ones.

Nice way of telling DC to stop shooting...WB is hoping he'll be so focused on making the next defensive stop that he'll forget about shooting altogether lol.

If you ever see Roger around, ask him why none of the interviews are posted anywhere this year. The last few years they were all on YouTube.

There are several tweets to him and 1045 in the twitterverse from a few people, but the conveniently ignore them all. Some of us aren't able to listen during the day.

Think they went out of their way to put it up as an extra in years past. Not sure if they just haven't gone out of their way to do it this year yet, or it's a result of how things went after he leaked the Joe Cremo news.
