Ironically two of the potential weaknesses were the only strengths last night - face off’s and goal tending. I think Jones won over 60% and our new goalie overall had a very good night.

I think I said a while back that this would be the biggest coaching challenge Marr has had in a while and we’ll see  how they respond.

No adjustments  and while I think the close defense played ok, once again the defensive scheme was a shambles.

Who made the call to use a pole on face offs when our FOGO was winning and concede them the ball? How do you let number 1 for them repeatedly have open shots?

How does Davis Diamond go from playing big minutes at attack to riding the pine?

I am more concerned about the decision making and the obvious favoritism than I was over the outcome.

I can not speak to favoritism.  Many coaches are accused of that, I have been many times, when they are trying to find what works for the team.  You may have more intimate knowledge.  Maybe some guys were in the dog house for some reason.  Diamond [who by the way I did not think was that great last year.......... just my opinion] was MIA,  Patterson did not play as much as I thought he would but when he did was MIA as well.  Chris Ryan did not play, maybe with Laffin out it hurt us more than it should have missing one guy.  I was surprised the freshman attackers got as much time as they did.  As I said in another thread, maybe the see the handwriting on the wall and think it is better to get them in the fire now.  The problem is, it is much different than HS and they were making poor passes, that were intercepted, or overthrew balls, or made some poor and whimpy attempts at goals.  The passing is what really upset me.  We have always made crisp strong passes, but not yesterday!.  Still having great trouble with the zone defenses.  We will be seeing it all year.  How many stick checks from behind did our guys lose??

Def is just poor.  Nuff said. Flat footed slow foot speed!  Kids were fighting for ground balls off the FO but not getting as many as we would like [or losing the ball after gaining possession].  Bigger stronger guys knocking the hell out of them.  We have to get better.  Yes it is one game.

As I stated elsewhere Benson personally told me they had an agreement for Syracuse to come here THIS year but then they backed out with some stupid excuse.  If we are scheduled to go there next year I will give up my season passes.  I am fed up with us being a patsy to Syracuse!  My lord, Maryland and Yale and Cornell have come here many times!  They would rather have the home crowd in the dome and THAT is unfair to us.  Let them come here and play in front of our home crowd outside!!!!!!!!!!
