Big game next week battle for possibly second in the CAA.  Never would have guessed this after the momouth game.  Well done

Nova beat Richmond today. If Madison tops UNH we're tied with Wildcats. Nova, Stony, Richmond, Towson and Elon already have 3 league losses.

Yes, next week is to go into second alone.

Actually we are second because we have 6 wins and are 4-2 in the league  But tied in the League, yes.

From the CAA website:

James Madison  6-0; 9-1
Albany                  4-2; 6-4
New Hampshire  4-2; 5-4
Richmond            4-2; 5-5
Villanova              4-3; 7-3
Towson                3-3; 6-4
Maine                   3-3; 5-5
Elon                      3-4; 4-6
Stony Brook        2-4; 5-5
Delaware             2-4; 4-6
William & Mary   2-4; 4-6
Rhode Island      0-6; 2-8

We MUST win the next two and I don't see how they keep us out of the playoffs!

Great win on the road for the boys but it pisses you off we couldn't stop a nose bleed vs Maine last week and what could have been.

Or if we actually "played" against Richmond - I think we are a better team than them!!!!

Do we even have linebackers? Running right up the middle and no one is there.

They had them in a deep drop to protect the middle, not fast enough to get back to near the LOS to stop the Running back or the QB.  Changed it up in the second half some though.

Probably 11 teams fighting for the 24th playoff slot right now.  All could be with 4 or 5 losses.  We are one.

we win out and we may catch a home game in round one.  All losses looking somewhat decent.  Wacky year in fcs.

Isn't there a $30,000 minimum guarantee for a first-round home game? Are we able to come up with that much cash for a game on Thanksgiving weekend?

Wait...we have to PAY to play a playoff game if we host? That's ridiculous.

Guessing because NCAA pays travel expenses of the visiting teams

NCAA Championship Manual:

1. The committee will consider previous crowd-control measures and crowd behavior of the prospective host institution
(regardless of seeding).
2. Prospective host institutions must submit the following minimum financial guarantees, which shall be 75% of the
estimated net receipts
as submitted on the proposed budget:
First round – $30,000
Second round – $40,000
Quarterfinals – $50,000
Semifinals – $60,000
3. If the minimum financial guarantees are met, the committee will award the playoff sites to the higher-seeded teams.
4. When determining host institutions for playoff games when both teams are unseeded, criteria shall apply as follows:
(1) quality of facility, (2) revenue potential plus estimated net receipts, (3) attendance history and potential, (4) team’s
performance (i.e., conference place finish, head-to-head results and number of Division I opponents), and (5) studentathlete
well-being (e.g., travel and missed class time).

The estimate is the reason the bigger schools are suspected of underreporting attendance in the playoffs

If there is one thing that Benson pimps hard, it's football.  It would not shock me to see him pay for a home game.

In reality, a playoff game COULD...if he markets it correctly, draw the community and get you 6k fans at 20 bucks a pop.  That's a $120k and after expenses, could net the school a 100% ROI.

Quality of facility is there; revenue potential is there; attendance history hurts; performance is there; and we likely would get a regional game (CCSU, Lafayette/Holy Cross)
