That last 6 minites was the "feel good" portion of the loss. The one you'll look to as potential when you digest another 10pt loss. Head up!

Team looked like one of the 50 worse teams in the country in the first half. Played better and got a win against a decent team

When the intensity and fire picked up, the entire pace of play and overall attitude of the team did. It was almost like someone FINALLY said enough is enough. Right up until the 10 minute mark of the first half they were perfectly fine with getting their asses kicked, again. Then something changed. They started diving for loose balls (something that they never do), scrapping for rebounds, pushing the ball in transition and driving hard to the rim. I think the attitude and desire of Rizzuto took over, and it needs to make its way through this entire team more. He goes hard, all the time.

A real eye opener for me was with under a minute to go in the first half and the Danes still making a push to get closer there was a loose ball in the paint on the American end. DeSousa was right there and could have run through the ball to get the possession and keep the momentum for his team. Instead, he reached for the ball because he was afraid of contact, the American player, unafraid, stepped in and grabbed the ball. I don't remember if they scored on the second chance or not but it didn't matter. That softness has got to go for the entire team. I know DeSousa scored a lot in the second half and had the bucket that sealed it late in the second, but if everyone else has made the commitment to give everything they have and sacrifice their body, you need to as well. That was weak and really stood out to me.

Much better pace and tempo in the second half though. Like many said, lets see if they can keep that level of effort going. The guard play can be very good, the bigs not so much. The team is good enough to win if they play as hard as they did in the second half. Unfortunately for them, they aren't good enough to win with anything less than that.

Did the basketball football doubleheader.  I  waited to get home to read the threads, which I thought might be interesting.  I'm on t football next.  I expect it will be similar.

We stink, we're lousy, things are looking better, we win. Wish we could play a complete game, but we'll take it.  Put the gas can back in the garage (we'll need it for the snowblower).

Halftime speech, or yelling, seemed to have helped the boys, although Americans offense has not been the same as 1st half.  Our D did improve.  Now close it out!

I think the “Frusc” chewed them out at halftime, LOL.
