We are struggling against their long arms and quickness.  But Vermont beat this team and I doubt SJU arms grew since then.  How did UVM do it?  Our talent that much worse than UVM?  Guess we will find out twice soon.

I haven't watched UVM but I get the feeling that UVM is to the AE what JMU is to the CAA. #bloodbath

I will agree with everything that you said...except for the end.

I'm still not pinning this on Brown. Maybe I'm alone in that, but I put the blame on the key cogs on the team. There is no leadership amongst the players, no players holding each other accountable, getting in other guys' faces, etc.

IMO these kids are too busy arguing with Click on twitter than they are getting better at their craft. I hope these kids read this post...absolutely brutal and we are no longer in the first 3-4 games of the year. THIS. IS WHO WE ARE. Or rather...WHO THEY ARE.

As for Brown...it'll take 2-3 REALLY BAD years for me to turn on him. I want to see what he can do with proper facilities. Guy is basically recruiting with 1 hand tied behind his back because our facilities are pretty dang ancient. My only wish is that he would maybe get some more seasoned voices on his bench and stop with the 'you played for me, you coach for me' thing. It's not working. Lulka, Hanks and Healey are a FAR CRY from Rowley x2, Hooley and Devlin.

Stop it... Vermont has been kicking his ass for a decade with far worse.

Bottom line is he needs to be told to stop recruiting jucos. He needs to replace half of his staff with people that have experience and not first time coaches.

Program heading wrong way... Sorry to say it. I'm not saying fire him but he's gotta figure this out. Not good... Basically not competitive in to many games. Stop blaming kids alone...

Man you guys are rough. I had no doubt this game would be a blowout.  Half the team didn't practice this week. St. John's pressure is really good, they are very fast and swarming. IF anyone thought we would be able to handle their pressure without out turnover prowess then you're nuts.  Play it out, learn from it, move on.  Loving de Sousa's night though!

I watched both games.. This is a much better at John's team. They beat Vermont by double digits now... Who lost today to uncg

Wasn't expecting a win, but this is bad. For a team that had aspirations of competing in the AE this season, this not a good look.

There's some merit IMO... There are glaring holes in the front court and other areas. Far to many kids absolute suck and don't look like d1 players. Healy all of a sudden clueless... Rizzuto not a d1 kid. The entire front court could be replaced tomorrow and you wouldn't miss a beat. Need to recruit much much better.

I agree the recruiting has been suspect lately.  We blamed last season on the young puppies but no improvement from them except Hank and says alot about the other guys whom we thought had skills, just no experience.

What recruits is he losing to other America east teams because of facilities?! Winning the regular season and the America east championship is the ultimate goal every year right? I’m ready to hear who we are losing out on. I hear year in and year out, oh this guy was a steal, rizzuto is A10 quality, wait till JoJo is back, Romani is a baller, Flory is a sniper.

I do agree he’s got to many of his former players on his bench. Is anyone really going to speak up against him if they don’t agree with game plan or rotations? Kudos to him for being able to get all his own guys though. I’d do the same if I could.

My thoughts are not based only on this game but on this season so far...and also based on last season. Click makes great points about how Vermont is somehow able to recruit high level talent year after year despite antiquated facilities and the frozen tundra up there. Many of our guys are not competitive Div. I players. St. John’s had 11 blocks and 54 points in the paint - come on man, that’s pathetic. Our front court is fully replaceable and Clark is not a point guard (it’s painful to watch).  All of this to me adds up to  extremely poor recruiting (I don’t question CB’s ability to coach) - and recruiting is a huge part of a head coach’s job. I also don’t discount the fact that he runs a very clean program with kids that represent the university well.

Agreed on staff.. You start to shake it up there. To many yes men... To many misses on recruiting trail. You have to change up mix at this point. To many losses to turn a blind eye.

I didn't say anything about AE teams...but if you think we aren't missing on some of these kids that went to another conference which has better facilities, you're kidding yourself IMO. Looks at my recruiting spreadsheets and where some of those kids go. As for the kids that go to Vermont, who has (for now) worse facilities, that program is historically the top dog in this conference so that out weighs some of that. We are picked in the middle of the conference nearly every year and either surprise (like 3 or 4 of our 5 'chips) or tank (this year).
