  1. Is this four of the last five not making it past the quarters? I know it’s at least 3 of 4... It’s time for a change. I actually really like a few players on this team so it will be interesting to see who stays...if the writing is indeed on the wall

  3. My take is that the Dane Train is back. Too many turnovers; but otherwise, I was very impressed. The defense was awesome, two of the goals in the last couple of minutes (1 with about 3 seconds left); otherwise only gave 7 goals to a team that scored 14 last week to a pretty good RoMo team. Missing our top scorers due to covid but still got 15 goals on 8 assists officially (I actually had two more, not sure why a couple were not awarded) I don't know if the picture on this blog of Tehoka was from this year; but he looked in GREAT SHAPE! And if so look out. The freshman looke

  4. Have to say I think it’s laughable that Coach Brown hasn’t been extended. The results you get at UAlbany in relationship to the budget, facilities and other factors is beyond measure. This does not mean from a coaching perspective it can’t be better, there is always room for growth and improvement. But second guessing a coach is one of the easiest things one can do. Based on what I know and have experienced, Coach Brown’s results far exceed the circumstances. He is likely a victim of his own previous successes. There was an inflection point with the program that the university missed tha

  5. Dempsey is expired...ford has years I believe. Both of those situations are better then Albany with our arena. Hard to argue against the notion that the programs best years are behind them with this staff. It's not one rough year but 3 in a row. A lot of programs have passed us by.

  6. Wow - talk about being thoroughly outcoached. Are you kidding me? A mediocre team losing to another mediocre team that was in foul trouble for 3/4 of the game. Great coaching by Hartford changing defenses all game to get through the foul issues. And we never made the necessary adjustments to take advantage of their problems. The announcers kept saying that Albany was a good defensive team - what team were they watching? Hartford shot 53% from the floor. UA could not get a stop and let a very mediocre team score 80 POINTS. Ho hum....Another year, another early exit. As I previously said,

  7. Hartford too locked in on O, shooting from the field up to 58%. Albany playing well on offense but it may not matter if they can't slow Hawks down even a little.

  8. There two bigs were in foul trouble. The first 10 mins, Hartford had approximately 6 layups and dunks. They will be back to start the 2nd half but the defense was better with the 2nd string bigs in there.

  9. I'm not sure I agree with this but the reality is they haven't been able to string two good games together all season...I'm not entirely surprised by this so far.

  10. official box score corrected; actually 15 goals on 12 assists. Shows excellent team work, un-selfishness and everyone working together. Very IMPRESSIVE.

  12. To me it says Rizzuto had a really bad game and Healy has been off since coming back from the injury. I think it also says that was a pretty good recruiting class. Wouldn't have expected that we would have won easily with Rizzuto not scoring.

  14. Have to disagree with CB. With 4 min left, the starters should be pulled up 19 pts and a game tomorrow. You telling me Amica, Healy, Hank, Shaffer, and Hutch can't hold a lead for 4 min.

  15. Hopefully it isn't knee related and WB is just riding the hot hand in Champion Very good first half. Great intensity from Doles

  16. reposted from Volleyball: Volleyball broadcasted their game today on ZOOM. Not sure if that qualifies as a broadcast; but was definitely an improvement over last week. Joined them in progress after the lacrosse match and after I figured out how to install zoom.

  18. You can probably file this under "excuse making" but the unbalanced schedule made a difference this year. Vermont won 10 games and a #2 seed while going 4-0 against Bing and Maine - the bottom two teams in the league. Albany wins 6 conference game and the #5 seed while having games against Bing and Maine cancelled. There's no guarantees, but if we played those games we're probably a #2 or #3 seed and not having this conversation. What isn't excuse making is comparing Albany's results with peer institutions - SBU and Bing who have similar resources and are in the same conference. They have

  19. Pretty sure he has two years of eligibility maybe more. 1 redshirt year @ Rutgers, + 1 year injured I think, started 2 years at Utah, one cut short by covid, given an extra year. So 2 at least, more if the injured year and redshirt were different??

  20. I mean there is probably some amount of correlation between good teams and how well the players do in the classroom (basketball IQ, etc.)...but to suggest this is why he should be kept as coach in perpetuity (or on a super long leash) and allow him to go 500 year in year out, not sure I agree with that.
