  1. I think the response to this whole pandemic has been what the military refers to as a “clusterf***.” The hyper partisan politics and polarized media coverage have exacerbated everything. Every step or misstep is magnified and used for political advantage. The President runs his mouth when he ought to just shut up. The congressional leadership either remains silent or lies and uses inflammatory language. The so called experts change course on a whim or for a non medical reason. The models and predictions have been horribly wrong. The Gov made some horrible decisions and ridiculous forecasts of

  3. Hello everyone. Wasn’t sure where to post this then I saw the questions about where is David. Looks like you all got most of it right. He is playing in Cyprus and doing well. Recently launched a business during his downtime between games and so far looks like his decision to pass on the G League for Europe was the right call. Wanted to post an interview David recently did as I thought (based on previous discussions) you may enjoy the content. At the 1:06 mark David is asked to compare the coaching staffs at UA and FSU. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hear-the-s

  6. Not optimistic about seeing many games and never really was. In the spring of 2020, some friends who work at a health care provider told me their headquarters would be remote until summer of 2021. That's when life would possibly begin to resemble "normal." If Covid were a plumbing issue, I would listen to plumbers. If Covid were a legal issue, I would listen to lawyers. But it's a health issue so I've listened to people in the health care industry. I also had a client who is younger than me (earlier 40s with no previous health conditions) get Covid. They were in a coma for a month, hospi

  8. Anyone who thinks the statement 'black lives matter' is racist, or is intended to make white people feel sorry for being white, has a fundamental misunderstanding of what the movement is about. Please, let me try to help you understand.... Right now, when you hear "black lives matter' you're interpreting it as "black lives matter more than white/blue/latino/asian lives", which is incorrect. That is *not* what the movement is about, but unfortunately many have been lead to believe this by people who want to delegitimize the movement. The correct way to interpret is: "black lives matte

  11. UMBC big guys may be more athletic but were brutal at the free throw line - 3 of 9. That hurt them down the stretch. Tough road win to bounce back after the Hartford loss. Healy and Ahmad go 2-12 from three and we win on the road. I'll take that. Great to see other guys stepping up, we're a different team when other guys score besides the two big guns. Love De Sousa posting up. Would love to see more of that.

  12. DP, always the voice of reason. I think everyone, at least in this community, can understand and agree that there are situations where black people are treated differently just because they are black. If our players think they need to kneel in order to unite behind the message to fix that, more power to them! Only thing I ask is that hypocrisy, virtue signaling and other stuff like that stays out of it. Good for our team.

  13. I gotta admit, this stuff used to bother me when it first started with CK. I've done a good deal of soul searching on why and arrived at the conclusion of why should it? These are Americans, exercising their free will and God given right to take a stand. I may not agree with the nuances of the argument or exactly be aligned on the issue (not to say I think there are no problems) but I live and let live on this whole issue. The conversation needs to be had as there is wide division here. That's just me...I'm done (I think)...

I have to admit, after watching a mob of people smash the windows of the Capital and, among other things, literally take a dump inside, I find kneeling for the anthem quaint after that.

CDC/WHO can't seem to agree on guidelines, Cuomo sends thousands of seniors to their death thanks to his nursing home fiasco, we have reports that for every 1 confirmed case there is likely 10 not confirmed but for sure sick, we keep hearing that labs are screwing up results which is leading to false positives or false negatives (which is doing who knows what to the numbers which are then used to dictate policy), protests are allowed to go on

  18. I’d have to see what the plan was and what the infection rates were at the time. If it can be done safely, sure. I was at some games last year where it looked like most of the upper deck was practicing social distancing anyway. The opposite stands are usually sparsely occupied. I’d give it a shot unless it was apparent people were taking unnecessary risks. I still see brain dead a-holes walking around stores without a mask.

  19. There's an interesting working paper that was recently published by a couple of economists that looked at the economic impact of social distancing and quarantine among different US cities during the 1918 Pandemic, which is the closest analogue to this pandemic. They found that cities that took aggressive and early public health measures to slow down the spread actually recovered quicker economically than cities who did not respond as quickly or aggressively. I guess having a few million people dead is not good for economic recovery. https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=356

  20. I could see fall sports delayed or cancelled, but honestly, if we as a country aren't back to normal by the time winter sports start practice we will have much bigger issues than college sports. We will be in the great depression 2.0 and it will be bad. Very bad. Like more people suffering and potential deaths than the virus could kill if every American caught it type bad.

  21. A simple 1-32 ranking doesn’t tell you how far apart conferences are. I used to argue this with $iena fans when they’d say the MAAC was so superior to AE. Leagues 14 and 30 were as close as 1 and 6. It’s like the Power 6 conferences are generals, there are about five leagues that are lieutenants, and the other 20 are arguing over who deserves to be Private First Class.

  23. Not much point in arguing about Clark anymore. Yes, he often tried to do too much and yes he often made shaky decisions but watching him all year, he competed harder than any player in recent memory. If we had another PG to move him off the ball it would have been a different story but this whole season has been one if. Great to see Cam Healy look like Cam Healy.

  24. Great to see Ahmad get the recognition as he played all-out, all the time. Finished 5th in the conference in scoring, 4th in assists and 3rd in steals. Sorry to see the season crumble around him because he made great strides this year.

  25. Last game of the regular season. Team is on a slide going into game 30 at home vs. SBU. A loss there gives this game 0 value. A win might make this important for a home game in the playoffs (unlikely) . 26. (I'm sure they are all individually fine men but...) This team sucks so bad. Honestly, if every single player quit and left the team and we started from scratch, I'd be more pumped about the future than I am right now. Not a single bright spot to look forward too. I had business trips to start February and basically didn't follow UA hoops for a good 2-3 weeks as I was on the road and came back to this absolute horse $iena of a basketball program. Unwatchable. Undefendable. Unspinnable. Unmitigated disaster. As a Jets fan, I'm used to 'just end the season' chants...never thought it would

But we're hoping the lack of income tax, weather (even when its brutally hot) and other small things like that will make up for any nostalgic longing for the 518 that I've known for virtually me entire life (except for that stint in the USSR lol). But yeah, no more live UA sports for me although I will likely maintain my season tickets and may come home for homecoming, etc. or so. I consider it a donation to help keep the program afloat. I have no idea what to expect with this team as we didn't even have a recorded/televised purple and gold game (or whatever Benson calls it these days) to get a sneak peak. Feel like it's been two years since I've last seen UA sports. About the only thing I think we can be 100% sure of is that Healey will be our number 1 option and our best player. How will Lulka look? Will he look like Freshman Lulka and S. Rowley lite? Or will he look like last years Lulka? Did Hank add anything to his post game or is he still a rebound and lay it

My opinion is: EVERY opinion matters and everyone has a right to express theirs in a civil and lawful way. My questions have to do with the phrase "Black Lives Matter." When the movement was first taking form, many said why not change it to ALL Lives Matter. The response was, if you desire to make this change you DO NOT understand the issues. Well I guess, I still do not understand the issues? Secondly, many felt BLM should not only address police brutality,

Although it would be disappointing, barring a miracle drug/vaccination/divine intervention, I don’t think it will be safe to have ANY contact sports with crowds for the foreseeable future. While they may start out ok and have reams of safety rules it will take only a small slip up to upset the plan. We got back from FLA March 22 and I’ve been out of Saratoga County exactly once...quick trip to BJs in Rotterdam. We’ve eaten out once, outside a

I’m also awaiting word regarding what the plan is as my wife is in a couple high risk categories. Other than not having Eli to annoy, not having my customary seats or watching on TV would not be the worst things to happen in 2020. If the Athletic Dept is so dismissive of our concerns and can’t get their act together enough to contact season ticket holders and GDAC members, then maybe they need a wake up call. There is no perfect solution to this problem and all choices present uncertainty and danger. I'm certain there will be much discussed, analyzed and written over the next century regarding how this was handled. It's painful to see the unbridled politics being flung about. From my way of thinking this shutdown of the economy is not sustainable and may have already caused irreparable damage. Everything in life has risks. It's time to take a cha

His % is low because I guess his team was hurt and he was in a similar position to Clark...no one else but him so he probably took too many shots. To say he's better than KJ Jackson without ever seeing him in the AE or a UA uniform is an EXTREME fabrication. He might end up not being better than Clark. Let see what happens...I'm personally done getting overhyped or super down on recruits. I will wait for the first 10 games to go by before I give a verdict on anyone.

Just seems the same type of people seem to gravitate towards these forums and for the most part become negative threads attacking good peoples livelihoods. Myself and every alumni worth anything will stand behind Coach Marr forever. That loyalty goes way beyond the lacrosse field for all of us. I believe that understanding is why people don’t post their names.

Our SSDMs are awful, I think we are under recruiting that. Every year we get multiple high level attack recruits but nothing on the other side of the ball. Today it showed, They came off the bus much more polished and ready to play than we did. pros: I think Tehoka did a good job not forcing it. The offense looked good once we were getting some possessions in the fourth. Patterson and Hogg had some nice two man action that should get bett
