I think the response to this whole pandemic has been what the military refers to as a “clusterf***.” The hyper partisan politics and polarized media coverage have exacerbated everything. Every step or misstep is magnified and used for political advantage. The President runs his mouth when he ought to just shut up. The congressional leadership either remains silent or lies and uses inflammatory language. The so called experts change course on a whim or for a non medical reason. The models and predictions have been horribly wrong. The Gov made some horrible decisions and ridiculous forecasts of8 points

It's that magical time of year when we erect our Festivus poles. Wait, that didn't come out right. Happy Festivus! In keeping with tradition, you've have disappointed me greatly and now you're going to hear about it. Now it's time for the "airing of the grievences..." Gattuso, your record - stinks! NCAA, your grad transfer rule - stinks! How far in the pockets of the power conferences are you people? Mark Benson, your policy of throwing people out of Sefcu 30 seconds after basketball games are over - stinks! Some schools roll out basketballs and let kids shoot so8 points

I'm actually pretty happy to be in my blue state, thankyouverymuch and think that the safety of the many supersedes the rights of a few. It's called the greater good. Maybe we should talk about climate change next7 points

Hello everyone. Wasn’t sure where to post this then I saw the questions about where is David. Looks like you all got most of it right. He is playing in Cyprus and doing well. Recently launched a business during his downtime between games and so far looks like his decision to pass on the G League for Europe was the right call. Wanted to post an interview David recently did as I thought (based on previous discussions) you may enjoy the content. At the 1:06 mark David is asked to compare the coaching staffs at UA and FSU. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/hear-the-s7 points

We have 3 losses by a total of 11 pts. (Lehigh by 4, Manhattan by 6 and Bucknell by 1) in those 3 games we totalled 49 turnovers. in these 3 games we managed to get off a total of 154 FGA. add in 49 turnovers and about 32% of the time we didn't get a shot off. We have to learn to value the ball!!! PS. We could really use Lulka, too. I think is importance is undervalued by most. We need another guard!!!7 points

I decided to start a new topic since my post doesn't seem to fit in anywhere else. UA won all six games played on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. (Two volleyball matches, two field hockey games, one women's soccer, and the football. And the weather was great!7 points

Congrats to Devonte and Ray as they walk today, this is why we call them Student/Athletes. #purplefam Congrats to all the Student/Athletes Graduating and to all their fellow students who will be receiving their Diplomas.7 points

College basketball games are 40 minutes and with 5 players on the floor that means there are 200 minutes to go around. Last night we played freshman for 101 of those 200 minutes. As good as our freshman our, unless they're named Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett, we're going to struggle early in the season. I'm surprised at the reactions to Lulka. Maybe we all expected him to come with a cape, a big "S" on his shirt and fly around Sefcu Arena. I thought he's been pretty solid for his first two games - Avg 9PPG, 6 RPG while shooting over 58% from the floor. He showed a couple of nice po7 points

Lets not forget that with Joe and David on the roster we did win 67 game in 3 seasons and they were true Student/athletes!!!! We should appreciate them for their accomplishments. Our standard has become the NCAAs so they did fall short there but they really had a good run. I wish them the BEST and hope they are not disappointed at the end of next season.7 points

I'm pretty sure that's our role in those whole thing, isn't it?. We're not players and we're not coaches. We watch youtube clips and look up the 3pt percentages of our recruits. Then next year we'll drive through snowstorms to away games. We'll live and die with each foul call and then won't be able to talk the next day from screaming. We're fanatics, that's just what we do.7 points

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all! Hopefully Santa delivers some personal responsibility (effort), much needed shooting abilities, lateral quickness (defense) and basketball IQ (turnovers/shot selection) to our men and women's basketball teams :).6 points

Most of the accolades Benson gives himself are not really even "his". Most were done by or ushered by other people in the University for athletics. I think most people know that he is not a coaches AD but an administrative AD. McElroy was a Coaches AD but let the administrative side of the house fall apart. Benson was brought in to be the other side of the spectrum supposedly focusing on fundraising and administrative stuff. He also sold himself as someone who would increase community and fan involvement with the program. However the large fundraising that they have done has actually6 points

Much better stated Click. Devonte has always been one of my favorites on the team. 2 years ago he was the most athletic guy on the team, and he had a few beautiful Alley Oop dunks that season. He is a hard worker, a great leader, and someone who just seems like a great guy to be around. If he doesn't go on to play internationally, it would not surprise me in the slightest if he became a great coach. That said, his shooting troubles so far this season, and for most of last season, have definitely made it significantly harder for the team to win. Opposing defenses haven't given his sho6 points

So Rizzuto just strolls into the 9th game of the season and, after not playing a minute of D1 basketball drops 13 pts, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. If there are any other Rizzuot/Iatis out there we should totally offer them a scholarship. Also, nice find of Fruscio to set up his score. Best game of the year for Hank. I'm not sure what the MAAC did to Ahmad Clark but had 30 against Canisius and 29 against Monmouth. There were stretches of Ahmad and four frosh out there. That's a good sign. The zone in the first half was interesting. Made rebounding tough though.6 points

I can't remember a year when we've had this many interesting story lines going into a season. -Son of an NFL QB might be our starting QB -Hanks coming back from injury -Former starting QB and Punter might be starting at LB -Former basketball player as a Tight End. -Click still banned by Gattuso on Twitter.6 points

Anyone who thinks the statement 'black lives matter' is racist, or is intended to make white people feel sorry for being white, has a fundamental misunderstanding of what the movement is about. Please, let me try to help you understand.... Right now, when you hear "black lives matter' you're interpreting it as "black lives matter more than white/blue/latino/asian lives", which is incorrect. That is *not* what the movement is about, but unfortunately many have been lead to believe this by people who want to delegitimize the movement. The correct way to interpret is: "black lives matte5 points

Recruiting is especially tough when two key players leave very late (18/19 - too late to get valued players) then follow that by having one injury plagued early part of the season (19/20) and panic sets in. Albany was coming off I believe seven 19+ win seasons (7 post season invites) before the Post Graduate departures which appear to be good moves for Cremo and Nichols personally but tough for UA. Both were lightly recruited and developed nicely enough at UA to become interesting to P5 programs. Should we be upset about losing games? Sure! Anytime you're not winning you should5 points

Clark's best game in a UAlbany uniform. 26 pts, 6 rbs, 8 assists, a steal, a block and sacrificing everything to take that charge late in the game. I actually thought that was a really entertaining game. Lots of scoring, both teams shot well and a former Duke player walked off our floor on the losing end. All it really lacked was Red Panda at halftime. We basically only played two guards in that game.5 points

Undercuffler finished 2nd in the Jerry Rice award for Best Freshman. Thats nuts considering how bad we've been at that position for the past bunch of years. Nice work, coaching staff. (see..i say nice things about coaches when deserved).5 points

I want to inject this comment as it is Thanksgiving time. We UA fans should be grateful for the state of the athletic program. I know some of us had high expectations for the men's basketball team this season, and we are somewhat disappointed that our Sagarin rankings are not as high as we would like, but I want us to look at the men on the team. Is anyone in any trouble with the law? Are they all doing well in the classroom? Do they face bright futures after they graduate? Brown tries to recruit high-caliber STUDENT-athletes, and I think he has done an excellent job in that capacity. If we lo5 points

I got my renewal letter yesterday and can’t recall ever being less enthused about a football season. AD folks, if you’re reading this, you have a problem. As a football fanatic and a UA fan since 1970, you have a problem and need to fix it. Why would you not hold a spring game at TMC? I wouldn’t go to that game if I was going to be here. I avoid Troy whenever possible. If Statefan is onto something and the game was moved to keep one player from transferring...you’ve got even bigger problems. I chose not to believe that. But I can’t see how this change will do any good. Maybe it’ll work out as5 points

I think we need to be careful to not castigate a young man to much and just let the coaches do what's best for team. Yes, he's struggles shooting the ball but let's remember, he's a Dane and his effort has never been an issue especially as we turned over such a huge part of the roster. Whatever role he's in, I wish him the best of luck...he's a good kid but if there are better options available for the good of the team hopefully they are utilized.5 points

Jus saw that. Awesome. Anyone saying this isn’t good for Albany is insane. I’m still not happy they left...but we have two kids that are first guys or so off the bench for the national champs and a top ranked ACC team. Brown did a great job getting and coaching these kids.5 points

They had the longest winning streak in the country until tonight. The way I look at it. Albany beats Morgan State - Morgan State beat North Carolina A+T - North Carolina A+T beat ECU - ECU beat North Carolina - North Carolina just beat Pitt. That means, we're better than Pitt. Simple.5 points

Related to complaints and suggestions above, new hires at the Athletic Department: Leslie Moore, Associate AD for Facilities, Scheduling and Operations, promoted from Assistant - your complaints here. Erika Kenney, Assistant AD for Ticketing and Group Sales - hope that's selling tickets, not ticketing cars in the parking lot John Reilly, Assistant AD for Athletic Communications - assumes there's something they want to communicate, unless his job is to delete complaining emails http://www.ualbanysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=15800&ATCLID=211735394 Sor5 points
