  1. Good crowd for a women's game (1097) but probably a quarter were wearing Cambridge orange. Salem School District even had a bus to bring them down. Could almost hear them groan when the PA announcer said Lily Phillips was from "Gren-itch" instead of pronouncing it "green witch".
  2. Maybe it was hot because they didn’t adjust for the number of fans. TU says Amica is “day-to-day with an injury”
  3. Attendance 4215. Won’t be that many next time. Outrebounded 45-28. Second chance pts 17-6. Not just outtoughed but outhustled. Towson passed while we ball-chased until somebody was open. We OTOH drove into the lane and then looked for someone to pass to. And I can’t believe we only had 14 turnovers, seemed twice that
  4. Maine wins the shootout 2-1. Albany thought they scored the winning goal in the first overtime period but refs ruled it had been deflected by an Albany player's foot.
  5. Easy three-set win over Stony Brook. Team now alone in second place with two matches to go.
  6. I thought if I used their email link anybody could read it "We didn't have the season that we wanted to have, so we've got four games left," Alexander said. "We've just got to come out and finish and continue to get better. For the seniors, we've got to finish out strong for them. The returning guys, we've got to get ready for next season and have a good, strong season." well, maybe not
  7. Not what Alexander says at the end of today’s TU story https://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Trying-to-be-perfect-not-helping-winless-UAlbany-16575898.php?utm_campaign=CMS Sharing Tools (Premium)&utm_source=share-by-email&utm_medium=email
  8. UAlbany story Kelly Paolino Cirilla '99, women's 4th-leading scorer, inducted into the Upstate NY Basketball Hall of Fame Current women's executive assistant Gina Castelli also inducted, and given a Lifetime Achievement award
  9. IIRC exhibitions count against the number of allowed contests, and are played with game rules. Closed practices you can take time out for teaching, request the other team play a certain defense to practice against. LCC took the lead with 9 minutes to go, beat St Rose 77-70 before 4700 fans
  10. Albany is familiar ground for UAlbany basketball's Gerald Drumgoole and Hamlet Tibbs
  11. TU story on the Swedish connection https://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/3-Swedes-bring-European-flair-to-UAlbany-women-s-16546800.php?utm_campaign=CMS Sharing Tools (Premium)&utm_source=share-by-email&utm_medium=email

  13. Here's the link I put in the basketball thread Featured Projects 5/26/21 A picture on page 160 and sketch on p. 165 shows the Air Structure east of Ford Field (on Practice Field #1), the "Football Building" past the south end zone. These will preclude any major expansion of football seating. p. 125 says the PE Building will have" Phased Renovation – next 6-10 years", I assume for the rest of the building.

  15. Delaware lost to Rutgers 45-13 In other CAA vs FBS games, Stony Brook at #4 Oregon lost 48-7 and Elon lost to Appalachian State 44-10. Also Towson lost to North Dakota State 35-7. Maine returned TWO blocked extra points for scores to beat Merrimack 31-26
  16. Quarterback chose UAlbany football over Syracuse lacrosse coach: No way that Syracuse is Great Danes' Super Bowl
  17. Sorry try this https://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Stephen-Mulderry-story-16449064.php?utm_campaign=CMS Sharing Tools (Premium)&utm_source=share-by-email&utm_medium=email
  18. If it was in their last series, it was their backup quarterback, so I wouldn't have a problem with that.
