  1. Crap! That could hurt us because I thought one off set to the "free" tuition was them increasing that out of state tuition number.

If there is no tuition per se that athletic fee like all fees will really stand out.

  2. Not being in New York I'm somewhat removed from this topic. Curious if there is a consensus that this is good or bad for UA generally and UA athletics specifically. Not talking about good or bad for SUNY or tax payers just UA affect.

    1) It's good because it drives up enrollment thus driving up alumni (fans) and more athletic fees. Ohio State has 66,046 students.

    2) No affect

    3) It's bad because it backfires. Students get free tuition but are angry about the athletic fee. SUNY loses more "prestige" to private schools hurting recruiting.

  3. Mark explains his plans to make UA a "destination" for athletics fans.

Personally I'm resigned to the fact SUNY will never be in the top tier until a NY Governor decides he/she wants a flagship campus. That means combining multiple campuses under a single umbrella name, increasing funding etc. Create an Ohio State where there is none today.

  4. Albany was the birthplace of some huge companies like American Express and GE. Too bad they're all gone. They have the money for big dollar naming rights.

"XYZ Government Union Arena"? I can't remember the alphabet soup of those things. It's not a New York acronym if it doesn't have at least 5 letters and get phonetically sounded out. NYSTERS for example. You can be sure no one from outside New York would even guess how to pronounce it.

  5. I have so much UA crap it's unbelievable. Just in flags I have 3x5 horizontal and vertical. I also have multiple garden flags.

Amazon, Football Fanatics and the UA bookstore all sell them.

I'm screwed if UA ever changes their name. Christmas ornaments, corn hole games, scarves, Fatheads, car plates and hundreds of other items get tossed. I had my eye on a UA chef apron. I'm determined to keep up with my Michigan and Michigan State neighbors.

  6. I admit I turned this game off before the half thinking this would be a blow out. I'm pleasantly surprised to say the least.

I don't understand how we get solidly demolished by Delaware and repeat that through 2 quarters of this game and we win in the second half. Did a different team come out of the locker room?

What UA team shows up next week? First half or second half?

  7. Attendance announced at 3916 LOL Among them Mike Simpson, getting a final look at the last players he recruited/coached.

The first two times Sussman tried to pass downfield he got sacked. I was readying comments about Matador pass blocking. Ole!

He ended 5 of 9 for 34 yards, so he was over .500

The first series of the 2nd half, second and eight the whole Elon bench is yelling "Draw..watch the draw!", We run the draw, loss of two. Is Sussman not allowed to audible?

Gattuso the Henry Ford of college football - You can have any offense you want as long as it's vanilla?

Glad to fly in for the game. Glad we won. That said I had 12 family members join me and I was disappointed in the crowd size.
