  1. Lunardi says 16 seed in the First Four against Liberty for the right to play Indiana. Kind of frustrating though, since Albany's RPI is at least 40 spots higher than any of his other 16 seeds, and also higher than 1 of his 15 seeds. Keep in mind that Liberty and Morgan St. are absolute locks for the First Four, so that leaves the committee to rank Albany, James Madison, Southern, LIU Brooklyn, and maybe Western Kentucky. I would hope we might rank above Southern and LIU.
  2. Driving out from Boston with my girlfriend. Staying at a Days Inn in Binghamton as it was the cheapest option. Haven't been there before so if anyone has suggestions on places to eat, etc. would appreciate it.
  3. Yeah I was right behind the Albany bench so had a good view of that play and the aftermath. Jamar and Brent were both turning around to get back on D after Jamar had scored 2 I believe and they collided... I think Jamar basically punched Brent in the eye. He got a boxer's type cut... came out and got it cleaned up and bandaged and went back in the game. Looked like it must have been hard for him to see. About 20 minutes after the game, while a lot of the players were coming out the locker room in streeth clothes, Brent came out of the trainers room in uniform to head to the locker room. D
  4. Sunset Cantina is not the same place as Sunset Bar and Grill, though obviously it is the same ownership. I've never been to the cantina, but from what I know it's smaller and I don't think it has the same beer selection. Cantina would be a few minute walk to the left, into BU's campus, while the Bar and Grill would be a few minute walk to the right, away from BU.
  5. As has been said, the only place REALLY close is T's Pub... which is a nice place but nothing special (except on Tuesday night's where I am a karaoke God). But a veritable village of bars is only a 5 minute walk away. Exit Agganis and take a right onto Commonwealth Ave... go two blocks and stay straight onto Brighton Ave... two blocks more and you're in a drinking mecca. Sunset, as has been mentioned, is not to be missed by any beer lover. And yes, great food (get the chive french fries). Other places to hit on that block are Whitehorse Tavern, Common Ground, Big City, and Our House. Use
  6. So it'll be the Danes vs. Hartford, Saturday at 6:30 I believe. Got my tickets and I'm pumped for it. Fun with numbers: according to realtime RPI, after today's win, Albany is 97, UConn is 98.
  7. As a Boston native living pretty close to Agganis, I can recommend some great bars near the games. T's Pub is a BU hangout a block away from the arena... nice place, is always the main hangout before and after BU hockey games so it'll probably be the same for the tourney. If you walk a few more blocks down Brighton Ave. you get to big cluster of bars. Whitehorse Tavern is a huge sports bar with a bunch of big HDTVs and a couple pool tables. Sunset has 120 beers on tap and hundreds more in the fridge. Big City is huge pool hall upstairs from Sunset. Probably a dozen other good bars in a t
  8. Great win. Wasn't able to listen until the end, but looks like Siggers had himself a game. Being that I'm a BC guy in Boston, I've only been to the Harvard game this year. Siggers absolutely took over that game for a couple minute stretch, driving for dunks and raining 3s. Something like 12 straight points... he just realized "wait, I'm the most athletic man on this floor" and bam. Exciting to watch. Can't wait to catch the game at BU. My Eagles are down 3 men and lost to Duquesne tonight... I think we'd get rocked by UA right now.
  9. My number 1 team is obviously my alma mater BC, but Albany is my number 2 for a reason I won't disclose. Was at the game at BU this year and it was a blast. Was flipping out watching the game yesterday, couldn't believe what I was seeing. My biggest fear was that BC would somehow grab a 2, and Albany would be a 15 and the two would matchup, I wouldn't know what to do. But what a matchup of good vs. evil... love the Danes, and naturally hate UConn. Let's see about 7 of those Brent Wilson trailer 3s and the Danes making history!
