  1. Coach Marr on LSN https://www.laxsportsnetwork.com/videos/scott-marr-u-albanys-man-at-the-top more about recent alums and the PLL in Albany last week.
  2. Yagquinto is at Jacksonville. As far as I know Altamari wasn't leaving, but I didn't ask about him. He clearly was deep in the dog house at the end of the season having gone from starting in the opener to not playing at all by the end of the season. Aidan Conlon is off the roster and someone else who was also supposed to be leaving is still on the roster, and with Yaquinto still on it I am guessing as someone said earlier it is still getting updated. Don't have any info on the the MIA incoming freshmen, but I will see what I can find out.
  3. Main reason is the Carrier Dome is going to get a remodel. The game is usually when we play Cornell so will be interesting to see how the schedule shifts.
  4. As far as I know. I was at the game last night, and didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. A lot of guys looks bigger, and fitter.
  5. Fall Alumni game is set for October 4th and fall ball is against Hopkins, West Point, and Penn the next weekend in Philadelphia.
  6. I haven't seen the guys coming in live so can't add any value on there. Jones is a very technically sound FOGO. Hopefully he has worked on his strength and conditioning this summer, and especially his explosiveness to get into space. As we saw, his issue was what he did once he had the ball. No idea what in the world happened with Altamari. He went from being the starter at Syracuse to being behind a freshmen taking face off's with a pole.
  7. Not terribly well researched, but the first comments I have seen on the upcoming season. Otherwise not much to add. https://www.collegecrosse.com/2019/7/25/8929689/college-crosse-2019-men-ncaa-college-lacrosse-year-in-review-41-albany-great-danes-america-east-marr
  8. The early buzz is he wants something more blue collar. Hard to get more blue collar than the Danes, just saying.
  9. Chase can play either, but played middie for Loyola, and I want to say was a 2nd team AA as a freshmen. No idea why he is leaving. I thought it was odd after he was originally committed to Syracuse to decommit and go to Loyola. He is playing with Tehoka and Ron this summer so there is a strong Albany connection. Would be a huge addition.
  10. Hopefully the Danes are in the running for Chase Scanlon who is leaving Loyola. Have to believe we are actively working that one.
  11. I wonder if the world tour is a way of figuring out where to place franchises long term. I didn't see an attendance figure, but there appeared to be more butts in seats this week despite the rain. The production value of the games is much better than the MLL so we'll see. The fact that we are seeing pro lacrosse on NBC is pretty exciting and the games have been entertaining even with the WWE fights.
  12. Just shows where this program has come, and why I am confident the Dane Train will be back. Watching this game makes me sad that Connor wasn't even close to 100%, and so proud of the program. I hope every current Dane is watching this game.
  13. I tend to agree that last year was a perfect storm that led to a down year. Not many if any teams could sustain the loss of 4-5 All Americans lose a coach, and throw in some drama and replicate the prior year's success. Not only was Scott involved with the FIL so was Merrick as well. I am not sure if that hurt the season, but I would think it definitely set us back recruiting wise, and maybe beating the bushes for a FOGO once the loss of TD was finalized. Look how UNC has struggled after they caught fire and won the NCAA, UVA struggled for years with top notch talent, Hopkins isn't Hopkins anymore. It is tough out there. From what little I have seen and heard, I think the coaches knew the AE was weak, and kept HOPING we would find some chemistry, catch fire, and get hot at the end of the season. That just never did happen, and this is just me speculating , but I don't think they knew how to handle the adversity this year, and they just couldn't find the right combination of players. I suspect that this past year's team needed more of a kick in the butt than love, and the hammer probably should have been dropped sooner. You see that now with players being cut. I can't recall that ever happening in recent history. I think there will be more attrition in the fall. I know the team got the message of you better be working hard this summer.
  14. The way early too 20’s rolling out and no Albany anywhere. Not that I am surprised. I could see a bounce back like Towson this year if the pieces fall into place.
  15. I hope you are right but going to hard to imagine too many changes at attack with Patterson and Tehoka returning. I would have liked to have seen Yunker and McComber see more consistent minutes, especially down the stretch. There absolutely is an open spot at X, but the real opportunity is going to be at midfield. There is going to be a lot of competition for playing time.
  16. Richie LaCalandra from Trinity Pawling is an All New England West attackmen. Pretty serious chops to get that. Haven't heard much else about him.
  17. Definitely have to get bigger and stronger in the middle of the field. I thought that was going to happen this year, but you saw a lot of pretty easy goals given up by our defensive midfielders. You never know how kids transition from high school to college. There is definitely an opportunity for a few guys on the roster now and new faces to make an impact at midfield, and probably less so at attack. I think LSM, Goalie, and most of the defense is pretty set, but will be some new faces for sure on the man down with three of them graduating.
  18. Agree - if it were called like a regular game there would have been 15 or so man ups. Personally, I liked the way they called the game, but definitely inconsistent.
  19. UVA was one horrendous call from being knocked out in the quarters. They made the most out of their opportunities, but had a few gifts along the way. Starting with the run in 2012 or so, I want to say UA had one top twenty recruiting class.
  20. The refs definitely let them play. In a regular season game there would have been laundry all over the field. TD's numbers were good, but the stats IMO were misleading. To his credit he won a lot of contested ground balls which improved his stats. When it mattered most UVA won the face offs.
  21. If anybody watched the game yesterday, UVA put on a clinic on ground balls.
  22. The team just never, ever came together. I've gotten a bit of a debrief on some things, but it just wasn't their year.
