Unfortunately, the excavation by the baseball field and across the football practice fields is NOT stadium related. It is for the sewer hook-up for the new dorm. Albany would not allow the University to connect to its system, so it is being connect to Guilderland's. However, my sources tell me that the Stadium project is moving forward rapidly!

Don't like the sound of this at all!
Model 2: Substantial reduction to Athletics, and smallest reduction to Schools and Colleges
..........A 50% reduction in the Athletic Department’s state funds budget would remove stateside funding for a significant proportion of the division’s staff.
..........Because this scenario would result in a withdrawal from participation in Division I Athletics, and consequent elimination of the student athletics fee, the cost of attendance at the University would be reduced by $500 and thereby enabling the University to explore the cost-of-attendance elasticity on enrollment

On my way out to lunch I saw a CT Male truck and worker(s) working in/around the SEFCU parking lot. According to their website "C.T. Male Associates, P.C., a nationally ranked engineering and architectural design firm, serves clients in the municipal, state, federal, commercial and industrial markets, offering innovative solutions to today’s design, technical and regulatory challenges." Hopefully working on the stadium or at the very least a second exit to the Q parking lot.

Watching Siena, the one guy who really makes me upset that we can't get is Rossiter. A player who boxes out hard, has a nose for the ball, is a bit undersized for a center but has success and grows as a player. There HAVE to be players who available who can be developed into that sort of role. Hopefully, Metcalf can turn into that kind of player.
Need a Chris Kramer(purdue) as well. All Big Ten All-Defensive Team for 4 years. 2nd half he blocks downey and knocks it off his face out of bounds. NICE!

Gannon, who accounted for 159 all-purpose yards, was subbing for injured starter David McCarty, who sprained an ankle in the second quarter and did not return
-
McCarty only 9 carries. Hurt or b/c of the score?

Was just watching the latest episode of Mayne Street on ESPN (Episode 4: Cutbacks) and at the 3:03 mark there is a UAlbany Great Danes t-shirt visible in the background up on the wall.
Wonder if that is an alum's cubicle under the shirt.

From Club Trillion Blog (Ohio State Player Mark Titus' Blog):
"Anyway, the nasty taste left in our mouths from losing the Big Ten Championship was erased when we found out that we would be playing Siena, which happens to be my favorite shade of Crayola brown, in the first round of the NCAA tournament."

Also an article about Queener in the issue..........
Kings and Queener
With a team full of superstars, Rochester's MLL championship run was capped by a clearing, dancing, shot-stopping and between-the-legs passing machine of a rookie named Brett Queener.

How about Ford Field at Fuccillo Stadium. It would be H-U-G-E!!!! Although since he played football at Cuse his money probably goes there.

Just got this email...........
As we finish the semester, I'd like to take this opportunity to update
you and the campus community on the ongoing search process to select the
next President for the University at Albany.
Throughout its tenure, the Search Committee has worked vigorously to
identify and recruit Presidential candidates of excellence. Our
standards and scrutiny have been appropriately high and rigorous. We've
engaged in extensive review and outreach to develop as deep a candidate
pool as possible. We have met extensively on the phone and in person,
often on one if not two weekend days. We've interviewed a significant
number of candidates, in certain instances twice to assess their
suitability and viability.
While the Committee's energy and commitment has been one of constant
resolve, our search has been complicated by several extraordinary
challenges, including: a respected, but still interim Chancellor, the
resignation of Governor Spitzer and a budget environment that poses
extraordinary challenges for Public Higher Education.
Notwithstanding these challenges, we have received a broad based and
sincere interest from candidates seeking to be the next President of the
University at Albany. However, at this juncture, while we have
candidates for consideration, the pool does not meet the quantitative
and qualitative criteria required to present to the Campus. After
careful deliberation and with the support of the Chairman of the Board
of Trustees, Carl Hayden, the Committee has unanimously decided that it
would be best to continue and resume in earnest the search after a new
Chancellor has been selected. We agree with Chairman Hayden that having
a Chancellor in place is vital to our process. A world-class Chancellor
will provide stable and dynamic leadership for SUNY. Perhaps more
importantly for us, the new Chancellor will be a magnet for recruiting
excellent Presidential candidates to our campus.
In the meantime, and as the search continues, George Philip will
continue his extraordinary service as Interim President. I'd like to
thank the search committee for their dedication and devotion on this
extremely important mission and thank the faculty, administration and
staff at the University for their patience and understanding through
this process. We will continue to keep the campus community updated on
our progress. Thank you.
