The booster was well-known on campus. He is the president and former owner of a company with its headquarters located near the institution. The booster made multiple donations to the athletics department over the years and was a men's basketball season ticketholder. He was typically on campus three-to-four times per week to work out at the athletics complex. The booster was initially presented to the head coach as an important individual to the Siena family and the men's basketball program. The booster and head coach became very good friends. Over the course of their friendship, the two remained in regular contact and socialized when given the opportunity.

  2. Well, I'm glad to engage.  I thought the original comparison of Coach Brown's staff to Coach Marr's staff was a bad comparison.  Regarding Coach Brown's staff, I do not know the primary responsibilities of each assistant.  I would not mind seeing some turnover, but, if you were to ask me who and why, I couldn't answer.  Also, to be complete regarding the point of only hiring former players, Josh Pelletier did not play for Coach Brown.

My point regarding Coach Marr and his staff is that having former players as Assistant Coaches has worked in the very recent past.  I thought the point of the original post was that Coach Marr should have hired a defensive co-ordinator who had never played for him In other threads, because somehow assistants who never played for the head coach are more likely to suggest different ideas to the head coach,  It is simply a premise that I disagree with, which was my only point.  I see coaching staffs taken to task on this message board for recruiting failures, but, here, the claim is being put forth that generational talents were recruited and somehow the coaching staff gets no credit for the recruitment or for the development.  I will also note that each of the assistant lax coaches had other coaching  jobs before returning to UAlbany.

While I am at it, for those fellas here that are UA Lax fans too, notice who the two asst coaches for Marr are?  Two former players and the program has regressed.  Coincidence?  They challenging Marr?  They coming up with new ideas from another program?  I say not.  Nice to be loyal, but in D1 athletics you have to change when times get tough where loyalty may get you fired someday.

I am curious to know how you felt at the Final Four with a UAlbany grad, Liam Gleason as D.C.

This is how they take care of loyalty. If I get a parking ticket or towed, my almost 50 years of UA loyalty will be threatened!! Partial copy of my email and my response. Also, the fact that I had to initiate the question is upsetting. Like others said the ticket/parking/basketball should have been communicated to ALL; not left for each of us to find out details on our own.

NO THANK YOU. I am not paying for parking again. I'll move my car after basketball if I must.

    Good Morning D.

You will have to purchase a separate parking pass for the football game. I can add the parking to your account for $15. With your permission I can process the card on your account ending in ****. Once processed I will email you your parking pass. If you have any questions please let me know. Enjoy the games and thank you for your support!

I had to make the exact same inquiry this morning and got the exact opposite answer.  Now, I have no idea who or what to believe.

Looks like the game will be on ESPN3 and the MBB game will be on ESPN+. So, worst case, if UA Ath. Admin. somehow completely butchers this situation and we need to pick one game or the other, both will be watchable on replay (pending you have a TV/streaming service that gets those, of course). So there is that.

One would think that the Athletic Administration would send an e-mail to basketball & football SEFCU parking permit holders explaining the way it will work.  Then again, the American U site already shows game time as 10 AM which ours still shows 1 PM.

My guess is if Benson really wants to promo football, he will pay the 30k and get the game.

If so, we are likely getting CCSU, Holy Cross, or Monmouth.  I think AT&T gets in from MEAC but will stay south.

I could also see some bull$iena like us going to a Kennesaw...and that's a long trip.  You never know.

I hate being a naysayer, but I see a lot of obstacles with students being away for holiday weekend, many "regulars" being away or having company at home and the  1:00 men's basketball home game, which creates conflicts with use of the SEFCU parking lot, overlap with band, cheer and dance team and of course, basically the same fan base.

Oooof. Brutal shooting night against Cornell. Frames was 0 for 19!

Not disagreeing with your point, but, she was 0 for 11.  From my untrained eye, it looks like she is trying to play through an injury.  My concern after only two games is defensive scheme.  We simply give up too many layups.  I like the way the freshman, Haegerstrand plays.
