  1. Stop stealing my excuse. Maybe, this positive change can be attributed to the new SID?
  2. Just curious if anyone attended this event and could provide details. There was a small article in the Saturday Times Union print edition about this event. Apparantly the restauranteur has a developmentally disabled (I hope that is the proper phrase) daughter who has been befriended by the UAlbany Womens Basketball Team and the restauranteur created this event in appreciation.
  3. except classier: http://blog.timesunion.com/collegesports/vermont-did-classy-thing-for-aronhalts-milestone/12745/
  4. On the radio postgame, they said that Logan got a call around 3 PM that his grandfather had died unexpectedly. He may miss the Vermont game.
  5. Oh come on man...BU is a 200rpi team, let's not pretend we just got our ass handed to us by UCONN. Forget that we lost, we were down multiple times 23pts...we embarrassed ourselves on national TV to the point where Suero got benched and rightfully so. Let's for once not try to sugarcoat what we all just witnessed, call a spade a spade and move on. We are 12 - 1 against teams with an RPI of 238 or high and we are 0 - 7 against teams with RPIs under 222. Condolences to the Aronhalt family. I'm not an excuse maker, but I've been around long enough to know that on a team as close as th
  6. MsGDG, Your efforts in finding and posting these links are very much appreciated.
  7. It is with great sadness that I post the obituary of my friend, Nick Conte, a longtime season ticket holder and fan of UAlbany athletics and a player on the very first UAlbany football team: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/timesunion-albany/obituary.aspx?n=nicholas-w-conte&pid=155265945&fhid=5016
  8. sound familiar? http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/terps/tracking-the-terps/bal-turgeon-almost-didnt-start-stoglin-vs-albany-20111230,0,775885.story
  9. I need serious help with coachspeak. The Siena game was just another nonleague game that means much more to the alumni than it does to the players and coaches, but, the Mount St. Mary's game last night is labelled a "must win", and now, maybe it's not such a "must win" because coaches and players might have food poisoning?
  10. If we're going to be airing our grievances at 4:00, I better get a designated driver.
  11. Maryland's point guard, Peshon Howard will return from having a broken foot the game before ours and their 7'1" freshman center from Ukraine, Alex Len will be eligible for the first time for our game.
  12. Why would students read the Times Union to learn about UAlbany athletics?
  13. Maybe I should retire and become the new SID
  14. In the meantime, we have Metcalf and Aronhalt in the TU on Tuesday saying the game is no big deal to them. No one really needs to go to the Recovery Room tonight. I can preview Coach Brown's comments: Siena is a talented team. Their freshmen are really good and the Seniors provide leadership. Anosike will be a handful. They are well coached. Mitch is a great guy. They are lucky to be playing 3 games in 5 nights. We are at a disadvantage having 8 days between games. We have a young team. I don't know how they'll handle the big crowd. They're not in our conference. It's just anoth
  15. From Mark McGuire's Times Union column this morning: UAlbany football fans should take side-by-side photos of UA's antiquated University Field and Stony Brook's gorgeous Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, turn them into Christmas cards and mail them to every state legislator, SUNY administrator, high-ranking state official and the governor. No, it probably won't work in getting funding, but this is the time of year when it's the thought that counts. 16. To me, the interesting question is whether Tanner Gibson will get some time as back up PG, or whether we'll try to get by with Watts?
  17. Wyland seems to think UNH. We will see. Post game rumor in the parking lot seemed to be at Norfolk State

  19. http://www.dailygazette.com/weblogs/weiner/2011/nov/07/depasquales-departure-big-loss/ I was going to start a rumor that Dr. McElroy offered the job to Mark Singelais, if only to see if I could hear bob87 scream all the way from Delmar.
  20. The America East prospectus lists Jerel Hastings as the DOBO.
  21. And the remaining home game is after the end of classes for the semester and before exams begin. IMO, a very poor schedule from the perspective of trying to build student interest. Generally, students also miss 3 - 4 home games during the beginning of conference play as well.
  22. What's the over/under on when the OOC schedule makes the Wilkin/Singelais blog?
