First one was not a pick.  See my previous post.  Our guy had possession with the defender on top. The defender rolled them both out of bounds and then came away with the ball!!  It should have been a TD

I am sitting right there-  it was 💯 a pick, even on replay.  By the rule book.

Interceptions, penalties and missed FG could be a problem today. They could have put this away from the 5 yard line. If we manage to win this today we should count our blessings.

This team has low, low energy.   It also has low football iq

Here is the thing-- the O Line is not good this year, which to me is the most disappointing part of this team.  The defense was going to have growing pains...so I am 50-50 on my thoughts on them.

Burkett- not a top FCS QB.  Just simply is not accurate, and that's a big difference to Poff.  Poff was VERY accurate when it mattered.  I am not for putting in Lindsay at this point unless Burkett $ienas the bed completely next week.  However, if there isn't a true open comp next year at the QB position, then I will be disappointed.

I agree on Burkett. Frankly they need to give one of these other kids a shot or go transfer diving next year. This kid isn't it, unless is very very redshirt freshman learning pains

You are in that corner of the endzone? I still see it different.  Slow Motion replays, several times, showed that it was a dual reception and then when they rolled out of bounds the Bryant guy took the ball during the scufflel.  BUT they were out of bounds when he got sole possession.  They played it several times.

All league left tackle, Ozzie is still missing.  Everyone knew Burkett was not another Reece - still a sophomore - Freshmen behind him is really good too.   Offense looked better second half  - gotta stop the stupid mistakes.  Block in the back, TE lining up wrong on the LOS.  Stupid mental mistakes.

A win is a win is a win. This game should have been 35-10. Burkett will be fine long term, but he can't be throwing picks in the redzone. Offense needs to punch these scores in when inside the 10. A better team would have handed us a loss. I think if we can get more out of our OL that will go a long way for us, as we have really good rb's. Defense seems to be getting better but giving up a TD at the end in 58 seconds can't be a regular occurrence. Elon is a winnable game.

Yep, I was in that corner.

Just watched the highlights on the CAA website. I didn't realize we had two TD's called back due to penalty. This game should have been a blowout. As Dane 96 stated the OL needs to play better, no turnovers in the redzone, cut out the penalties and who knows what happens.

The Sunday's Times-Union recap:

Defense delivers win on road vs. Bryant

BY MARK SINGELAIS

The University at Albany football team sacked Bryant quarterback Jarrett Guest seven times and overcame its own redzone problems on Saturday to earn a 24-17 victory in Smithfield, R.I. UAlbany QB Myles Burkett, shown in the season opener against LIU, threw two touchdown passes Saturday. The Great Danes (3-3 overall, 1-1 Coastal Athletic Association) won their second consecutive game.

“At the end of the day, we were able to fight through all this and no one panicked and stuck together and got the win on the road,” UAlbany coach Greg Gattuso said in a phone interview. UAlbany quarterback Myles Burkett was 13-for-24 passing for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns to Seven McGee. Burkett, who rushed for 57 yards, was also intercepted twice in the end zone.

UAlbany scored three touchdowns on seven trips inside the Bryant 20. “I thought he played well,” Gattuso said. “I was happy with Myles. I’ll contest the first (interception) all day long. I felt it was a touchdown. I had a perfect view of it. At the end of the day, they called it the other way and they have a better angle, I guess. The second one was just not a great throw … But the problems are more we get in situations where you have to throw the ball in the tight red (zone). It’s a lot better when they’re not sure what you’re doing down there.”

With the game tied at 10 in the fourth quarter, Burkett converted a thirdand-31 from the Bryant 40 when he completed a 38-yard pass to Levi Wentz. After a run lost three yards, Burkett completed a 5-yard touchdown pass to McGee to put the Great Danes ahead for good at 17-10 with 10:34 to play. UAlbany’s Owen Lawson placed a 44-yard punt at the Bryant 1 with 2:43 left. Marcus Winfield sacked Guest on fourth down at the Bulldogs’ 6. The Great Danes capitalized on Jojo Uga’s 1-yard scoring run for a 24-10 lead. Bryant drove to a touchdown and then recovered an onside kick at the UAlbany 48 with six seconds remaining. But a Hail Mary pass fell incomplete as time expired.

The Great Danes’ defense delivered its second straight strong performance. Chiebuka Aduaka had a pair of sacks, Jack Iuliano had 11/2sacks and Ibrahim Sanogo, Erv Wiggins Jr. and Winfield added a sack each. “I felt like the defense played very well,” Gattuso said. “It’s just playing our defense, trying not to make mistakes and to know where to be. I think that coach (Bill) Nesselt (the defensive coordinator) and his guys did a great job keeping the defense playing hard.” UAlbany returns home to play Elon next Saturday.
