This thing is still there for us! UVM is not invincible! We need to take care of business the next two games and in Boston! If need be, let's get on the bus and head north to Burlington!

With the 32-team field Albany has no shot at the NIT. Any team around 80 in the RPI will be on the outside looking in for the NIT. Dropping the field by 8 teams will squeeze out many mid majors and allow more 16-14 BCS teams in

Just curious....what are Siena's chances like for cracking the NIT?

haha

Not.

Good luck at 11am this Saturday Siena: Marist sold out that game weeks ago, and Marist will be ready. Despite not being able to get tickets now, I still might be there via tickets through a friend so that I can cheer for Marist. Siena is going to have their hands full, without question, on Saturday in Po-Town.

No question that will be a very difficult game for the young Saints. Siena will be 6 to 8 point underdog. Still it should be good experience for the young Saints for the future. To have the chance to play for the MAAC championship ( if Siena can beat Manhattan tomorrow) on national television ( ESPN2) is a feather in Siena hats considering how young the Saints are. They do start two freshmen a sophomore and 2 of the first 3 off the bench are freshmen. Should be a good atmosphere tomorrow for senior day at the TUC, Saints should have 7000+ on hand. With next years excellent incoming recruiting class the future certainly looks rosy for the Saints!!!

Lets get back on topic. I am more interested in who the Danes will play in the tournament than in whether the saints lose by 1,6, 8 or more and finish in 3rd, 4th or 5th. You can sum up Siena with 3 letters. SSS

Right now the 7 seed is wide open. I did not look up tie breakers, but it looks like any of 6 teams could finish 7th. (Hartford, Maine, UMBC, Binghamton, New Hampshire, and Stony Brook). Any of those 6 could finish at 6-10 although it is not possible for there to be a six way tie at 6-10.

The current standings and games remaining are :

Team w l

Vermont 13- 1 thurs @ BU , sun vs Hart

Albany 11- 3 thurs @SB , sun vs BU

BU 8- 6 thurs @ UVM , sun @ Alb

Hartford 6- 8 thurs @ bingo , sun @ UVM

Maine 6- 8 thurs @umbc , sun vs SB

UMBC 6- 8 thurs Vs Maine , sun @ UNH

Bingo 5- 10 thurs vs Hart

UNH 5- 10 sun vs UMBC

Stony Brook 4- 10 thurs vs Alb , sun @ Maine

Of coarse after tomorrows games some teams will be eliminated from the race for the 7 seed. The winner of the Maine -UMBC game for one.

looks like UA will play Hartford or Bingo.(or Maine?)

Here are the scenerios from Ae's site which are a little confusing as it says that maine can finish 4th to 6th, but it says if Maine and Bingo finish tied at 6-10, Bingo is 6th and Maine is 7th.

Championship Seeding Tie-Breaking Procedures

Teams tied for first place will be deemed “co-champions.” Ties for chamionship seeding will be broken in the following manner:

a. Ties shall be broken from the top of the standings down.

b. In the event of a tie between two or more teams, the tie shall be broken using the following criteria in order.

c. The record in regular-season Conference play of the tied teams shall be determined against the other team(s) with which it is tied. The team with the highest winning percentage based on the results of their in-season head-to-head competition shall gain the advantage.

d. Record versus other Conference opponents in descending rank order. In the event of arriving at another pair of tied teams when comparing records, each team’s record against the combined tied teams is used rather than the performance against individual tied teams.

e. Conference record in road games. In the event a game was played on a neutral floor, the home team shall be considered to be the team which was originally awarded the home game when the Conference schedule was issued.

f. RPI ranking as determined by the College RPI Report (www.rpiratings.com) through the end of the regular season. The team with the highest ranking shall gain the advantage.

g. If the tie is not resolved, then the tie shall be broken by a coin flip or draw conducted by the Commissioner or his designee.

h. In the event of a tie between more than two teams, once the tie is broken and a team is awarded the highest seed among the tied teams, return to (a.) above.
