Trip to Barbados

For those who don't feel like looking it up the scrimmage is on Saturday October 13th at 2:15PM.

What's truly interesting is that this group held their opponents to an avg of just under 50ppg. I know the level of comp wasn't the best but that seems pretty good considering all the new guys - Hastings, Moores, Turley, Allen and Ambrose.

 

On the offensive end it seemed so balanced - all but one of the 9 available players scored double figures atleast once except Jimmy C. (7pts his high game).

Danes are going to be great! The balance big/small will be better and the offensive options limitless. Gifford was good and getting better and Turley, among the top 25 HS players in the State of Texas, is going to be a horse both ways.

Based on what we know so far which clearly isn't much, the team may have more scorers than in previous years. We'll see about the defense, the comments about Turley are encouraging. It may take them some time to gel but I think they'll compete well in the AE.

I'm also encouraged by the coach saying this might be the most athletic team he's ever had here. In years past we had one or two athletic guys like Jamar, Siggers but now it sound like the team has more guys who can really compete with the often more athletic competition.
