The non-D-II teams are Iona and Marist. Like Wagner, nothing that's going to help the NEC move to the mainstream of FCS.

 

 

Agreed. I think two things need to happen for us to stay in the NEC more then the next two seasons:

1. The scholly limits needs to be increased to at least 45.

2. They need to enact some sort of scheduling mandate like the AEast did for basketball. I'd like to see either a non-sub DI policy or if you are going to play sub-DI teams you have to balance it out with full scholarship/equivalency teams.

 

e.g. Sacred Heart would have to replace Marist and Iona with a full scholly teams or PL/Ivy teams. Or they could still play Marist and Iona but then they'd have to remove their DII games and replace with all FCS games which could easily be filled with PFL teams if they so chose.

 

Saced Heart should have no problem getting some Ivy's and PL teams scheduled without increasing their travel costs at all.
