Starting five in 08-09?

I think that Hastings will start going forward. If he doesn't we are WAY too young. He is also our best defender - and without him in the lineup, we have Martin/Ambrose (both of whom, especially Timmy, haven't shown defensive capabilities). This season will be trickier than our past season because people will need to step up. While this was the case this past year, it was more of an issue of PROVEN roleplayers/scorers stepping it up. Now you have people who played small roles in the offense, if any, being asked todo a lot more.

I'd like to see Jerel have a Siggers-like rise and be a solid 12 ppg scorer. And i think we will be much more of a run and gun team.

maybe if he works on his layups in the offseason

Its sad to say that when next season comes i will be officially gone from albany and will have to face the real world working full time.

It was a good 4 years would have been nice to go down to baltimore to see my 3rd america east championship. I can say that when i came to this school i would have never expected this.

Hopefully this season doesnt turn away local support and only if we can actually fill the student sections for every home game. Sefcu could easily be one of the toughest places to play if those end zones were filled to the max

1. Raffa starts just because he can create off the dribble.

2. I'm not sure that Hastings found his role this year. Will see if he becomes the defensive specialist next year - or will he take on more of a scoring role.

3. Will be interesting to see which players evolve as perimeter scorers next year - the team will certainly have a different personality.

For a rebuilding year the attendance didn't appear to suffer, I haven't done the math though. At least now the CD knows about UA basketball.

Despite an up and down year, we still were 2nd in the conference in average attendance, and there are rumors we might be hosting the AE Tournament next year which would be awesome...I went to every home game this year, and there certainly was a huge difference in intensity from last year...Despite being 2nd in attendance, I think we can do a better job of making this place a hostile arena (I.E. AE Championship 2 years ago)

As I posted last week, final home attendance average for this year was 3,031 which is down 144 per game from last year. Not too bad considering Bing and UVM games were when students were out, two games had moderately bad weather, and as always opponents who don't travel well.

Story in T-U today UAlbany to bid for tournament. At SEFCU, not the TUC. Decision in late April or early May.

The America East had that fan's choice poll on their website for player of the year where fans could vote. Maybe they should do the same for the 2009 tourney site. Have a fan's choice for that too.

Dane Pound,

Good idea, but I doubt the poll would have much impact on the actuall decision.

The article seemed to concentrate on the amount of money the tourney site could bring to the conference. What a surprise!

They do it the same way the NCAA solicits bids for the regionals, etc. in all sports. Its all about $$$$. It stinks.
