It really isnt far from the truth. Siena has improved by leaps and bounds and, because of the talent in the area, should be a very solid teams over the coming years.

I still think UA wins out on talent because with our 12 rides, we can split them and give in-state kids (hotbed of National Lacrosse recruits) partial tuition and they will leave school at 20-40k in debt.

A kid going to Siena has to have $$$ or take out huge loans.

And I thought the lacrosse issue through before I put Siena in there.

And my intent was this: I was not comparing Siena and Albany in lacrosse. To that there is no comparison right now. But Siena is still playing Division I lacrosse and has had relative success. In a country with an up and coming lacrosse following, Division I lacrosse is the pinnacle (Major League Lacrosse is coming along, but doesn't have the following of DI still). No matter what portion of Division I it is, its still the top of lacrosse in this country.

That's what I meant.

Don't get me wrong danefan. I think your letter was excellent, and I totally understood why you put siena in the mix, They are a part of the local, national D1 lacrosse picture, and should be included with the overall local D1 athletics that should be drawing more of a CD fan base. Again, damn good letter and excellent approach.

I mis-stated by saying it was 'far from the truth'. Mention of siena brings out the heebie-Jeebies in me  I revised my original comment. Siena is certainly not on UAlbany's level, but they deserve credit in their progress. You were spot on to include them, completing your argument and call for more local college athletic fan support.

No worries, I didn't take any offense to your comment or anything. I had the same reservations/thoughts you did when I was writing the letter. That's why I though I'd address your comment.
