Ummmm...did you read Patch's post?

Yeah...raw I would agree based on big men...but he is going to be a lane filler...much like Kirsten Z. was (albeit much smaller).

I just hope at some point he can have a positive impact on the offensive end, someone we can dump it down to so things open up on the outside. I've been very guilty of hyping recruits in the past, so I'll have to keep my own expectations in check.

Having never seen him play I have no clue how he is offensively but I was impressed when I read about 19-15 against Lawrence North.

In that game he played against athletic 6' 9" guys going to Louisville and Purdue who were surrounded by other DI athletes. If he got 19 and 15 I think he might be a decent low block presence in the AE.

Just a guess - None of our previous bigs came with the ability or rep as a scorer.

In his own words he a true back to the basket big who wants to bang. Who knows how that will translate to the DI level.

If he learns to shoot foul shots that would be a plus.

Metcalf's season continues:

Plainfield 66, Northview 39

Plainfield 10 8 29 19 0 66

Northview 11 14 1 13 0 39

In Class 4A Sectional 13 at Terre Haute North, the Quakers (13-8) trailed 25-18 at halftime and then went on a 36-1 run to wrest control from the Knights (9-14). Chris Page topped Plainfield with 21 points. Joining him in double figures were Brian Mucho with 18 points, and Blake Metcalf with 12 points and 11 boards. Senior point guard Austin Akers led Northview with 15 points.

I will try to find his next game....

Sectional 13, at Terre Haute North

The games: Tuesday - Plainfield (12-8) vs. Northview (9-13); Mooresville (12-8) vs. Terre Haute North (8-14);

Friday - Terre Haute South (18-4) vs. Plainfield-Northview winner; Martinsville (8-12) vs. Mooresville-Terre Haute North winner

The favorite: Terre Haute South

The darkhorse: Plainfield

One to watch: Indiana State recruit Jake Odum is averaging 22.4 points for Terre Haute South

The skinny: Terre Haute South was the prohibitive favorite, but ankle injuries to leading scorers Odum and John Michael Jarvis have the Braves limping into sectionals. Plainfield has lost three straight.

The pick: Terre Haute South

Final season averages in 22 games: 16.59 PPG, 13.62 RPG (Data for rebounding only available for 15 out of the 22 games.)

Hopefully the weblink with the season stats will corraborate the information, but it is nice to note that with the exception of the sectionals that Metcalf's numbers got stronger throughout the year.

Remember that Fox23 video that was circulating after Blake's visit? Here's the raw footage:

Metcalf Interview

There are some interesting "numbers" at the end. Boisy, I'm looking at you on this one....

Sure hope the Bingo fans don't watch it.

This clip is OLD....when are you going to bring something new to this board?

Seriously though...I got those digits on speed dial...please don't call me the MTS's of the UA board though!

Yeh, hopefully a fax won't be sent to him at this number with a Bingo area code....lol! Those that don't know...Walker used to send a fax out to at least one recruit......

Disclaimer: MT...if you read this, I'm just kidding!
