BINGO has fluffed it's rep for years - "Ivy of the SUNY system" and "The Premiere Public University in the Northeast"

 

As far as I'm concerned they are getting what they deserve - The thing that UA was known for going into our fist NCAA appearance was "why not us"

BINGHAMTON,NY (AP) — Binghamton University trustees voted to retire the school's Bearcat nickname and mascot symbol .

It was a formality — Binghamton had already adopted a new nickname, "Hoodlums" and "Gangsta" mascot in February.

 

It also was a close vote. The board voted 5-4 Friday to retire the old symbols.

 

The switch came over the objection of hundreds of students and alumni, but was applauded by management and employees of the Vestal Walmart Supercenter.

A woman who raises money for Binghamton University athletics has filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, alleging “egregious acts of sexual misconduct” by two senior athletic department officials.
