we could save money by replicating the famous Delaware pee wall instead of urinals

(link instead of picture for the delicate-minded)

Hold up....you telling me you just walk up and piss on a wall...? LOL laugh.gif

An Italian marble wall at that.

An FCS football fan "must do before you die". laugh.giflaugh.giflaugh.gif

is this for real?? you gotta be kidding!

Absolutely real. Apparently other teams have walls, but none are marble. Now, you must stand behind the slightly raised barrier on the floor, and the target ditch is next to the wall. If your two-year-old son can stand upright, you don't have to hold him up, he can pee just like the big guys.

Really, it's no different from the old urinals that went all the way down to the floor, it's just more communal.

Using a wall is more adjustable for users of varying heights than a trough.

Is there a school out there putting up (or recently put up) something similar to what we are looking to do?

UNC-Charlotte plans to build a 15,000-seat phase 1 for $40.5 million, which includes $12-13 million for a field house/football building

It will be expandable to 40,000+ in the future.

I don't think we are looking to put something up like that...are we?

Another potential:

Add Charlotte to the CAA and add a 14th team from the North. They'd have to move Delaware and Nova to the North.

Play an 8 conference game schedule with 2 games against the opposite division (1 home and 1 away). that's only 1 long trip per year for the Northern teams. That may be the compromise.

North

Maine

URI

UNH

UMass

Delaware

Villanova

Albany/Fordham/Stony Brook

South

JMU

ODU

Towson

Richmond

W&M

Ga. St.

Charlotte

If this were to happen, we'd need to hope that UMass, UNH, URI and Maine would fight for us. We'd be a much easier travel partner than either Fordham or SBU.

I was pulling for Montana, (been a fan ever since we played them in Montana - and how much of a class act they were) but Villanova came away with the fcs title yesterday.

Here's the reason for the post. Now, Villanova has an extremely strong selling point to the university, the big east, and alumni to go FBS. Now's the time if they really want to start pushing it.

That would give Albany even more opportunity to get in.

Handsome stadium.

Villanova Stadium's capacity is 12500.

Is that enough to go FBS?

Yes, I'm a big T&F supporter and we don't want to be around a fball field anymore than Fball wants to be surrounded by a track. Same for Indoor - no need to be around a rectangular bball court(s). Nobody likes it. Luckily the current plan puts the T&F area out to Dutch Quad parking area. Now we just need an Indoor facility and Bball will have peace & quite for practice

Besides a 10,000+ seat outdoor stadium, there isn't a bigger need in Upstate NY than for a top quality indoor T&F facility.

As for Nova - they'd need to build a new stadium to go to the Big East that's for sure. But they could probably rent Lincoln Financial Field (maybe). That's where Temple plays, which may be a problem. Its natural grass. If it was turf they wouldn't have a problem.

But, IMO, that's 1 major reason why Villanova will have serious trouble going to the Big East.
